It’ll be fine. If there’s too much it’ll just blow a little out the overflow. Nothing to worry about

 

Now if you would've filled it to the entire top, then you'd have to remove the lower radiator hose or shut off (petcock) valve to drop fluid to appropriate level.

 

Couldn't you just remove the hose from the jug?

Buy a Turkey Baster at the Dollar store. It is the best way to remove some fluid from a container like that.
