do i need a computer for the gfb? or can i get the map and everything i went through my phone? i’m only 19 trying to figure all this out because the people love this car…. especially since it’s a manual. but i know they would like it even more with a bunch of kids done to it.
Blow off valve will be just follow instructions on site manufacturers site and have fun with it. I can help if needed. Join the FB I have attached to me here if you would like.
Ahh and the reason I love FB becomes obvious. :) I think I will stay here with the idiots who use that "Cheap" Racechip that does nothing and who have no clue what they are doing. It must not have been obvious I was looking for factual info for the reason the "Experts" tell everyone to change plugs and close the gap.

As to my factual sparkplug info...
Forte GT 200hp uses Iridium heat range 8 and .31 gap
Elantra N 276hp uses Iridium heat range 8 and .35 gap
Yaris GR 300hp uses Iridium heat range 8 and .28 gap

If manufactures spend millions designing engines and testing for thousands of miles and can make 275-300hp all day long on heat range 8 and .28 to .35 gap I really think the old train of thought might be outdated. I understand the factory coil packs can vary on output and cylinder pressures can have an effect but for under 250hp on pump gas leaving everything stock seems fine.

I suggest branching out more than just forums for the data you seek to get more knowledge, better educated and why/how the piggyback and tuning world works with testing data. When you choose to do so I hope you will see the data that these companies provide and the media platform they choose to use today "(YouTube/Facebook)". Best of luck on your journey and have fun with the car. 😀

let me know if you’re down to let me in on some stuff to know about that jb4 before i do get it. like if i should buy full bolt ons first then the tune? do i need a computer for the tuner?

Sent ya a PM.
You are also missing out major of gains being almost full bolts and using factory ECU settings. Factory ECU has limits and its been proven full bolt ons on factory ECU settings you can hurt performance.
My priority is tinkering on my car - I just add the aftermarket items for something to do. I don't race my car so I don't need lots more power.

I'm aware that the factory ECU limits output. I don't want to mess with the ECU because that alone will kill the powertrain warranty faster than any of the bolt-on aftermarket parts.

My main point was that the aftermarket parts do not create CELs nor do they damage the engine in any way.
Lets clarify everything here so people can make an educated decision on what route to go. That is why this thread is here.

Racechip is proven on the dyno to make 44hp and 67 lb-ft of torque at the wheels using 93 octane on a dct car (236hp, 281lb-ft). Boost is increased 6psi and air/fuel ratios are fine. It is very simple with 2 connections and can be used with stock spark plugs with no issues. Do I wish there was more power above 5000rpm? Yes, but for $400, 2 plugs and then set it and forget it I can't complain. And if you need warranty work you can then unplug and remove in 10 minutes. Dyno is in the thread below
Racechip in a 2020 Kia Forte GT manual | Page 4 | Kia Forte Forum (forteforums.com)

JB4 does the same thing as Racechip but allows the user to add more functions. You can fine tune things more to get slightly better results if you want to tinker and get more involved. There is nothing wrong with JB4, it is basically a middle ground between Racechip and ECU tuning. I will let Olszewski give some numbers achieved with JB4 and 93 Octane. JB4 allows for other fuel types which can make more power as well.

ECU tunes are the best option to get the most power and there are a few ways to do them, ECU remote tuning, tuning a second ECU or using a device like the EK1 lite that allows you to have several tunes including stock that you can switch between as you desire. N75 seems to be the best current option for this. Again I am sure Olszewski can add some idea of what kind of numbers can be achieved on a 93 octane tune. Also ECU tuning can allow for alternate fuels as well.

As far as sparkplugs go... I have some interesting info I think I might just start a new thread about it. Plugs for GT | Kia Forte Forum (forteforums.com)

I’m so tired of hearing about JB4 I wouldn’t run one if it was given to me. Same reason I never run Edelbrock parts on my v8 engine builds.
Are you not in FB groups? There plenty of tuned cars with intake and plugs. All the EK does is load tune files that are saved on it. Great tool for switching back and forth and still modifies the ECU like bench or remote tuning.
Bear with me Olszewski as this is a long thread, I just got here recently and I'm only up to about page 33. Which FB groups are you referring to? Are they listed in the thread, or on the forum, somewhere and I missed them? Thanks.

Eli emailed me today and said they have no timetable for when the midpipes will return to stock. Bummer because I was getting ready to pull the trigger. Oh well, I ordered the Boomba short shifter instead.
I got tired of waiting too. Vivid sells one also.
