Hey everyone I've recently purchased a 2020 GT and I'm having a very hard time finding mods for it. The main thing I'm looking for is a Blow off plate (the boomba BOV is a little to expensive for me) and an intake as well. Maybe some other cool little stuff yall would recommend. Please post some links below! Also quick question I read somewhere that the GT is a K3? Is this correct?

The 2020 veloster 1.6t is the same set up and fitment for cold air intakes and bov. They not cheap at the moment. There are a few non big name brand/local town company websites doing mods for exhaust, intercoolers and throttle controllers. Just need to wait a bit and hope the common aftermarket companies look into the kia brand.

The guy that own sxth element has a 17 Elantra sport same motor 1.6t as us motor has never been opened up but bigger turbo pushing 28psi an dynoed at 400hp that's a pretty nice number to see.
They've never beating on it either to see if was reliable at that power number. You can beat on the 1.6L cars easily at 300 whp without issue. You likely can at 400 whp as well, but nobody generally knows that because far too many Kia/Hyundai owners are playing in the kiddie pool.

Hey! I just got a 2020 GT too. I had a hard time finding mods for it too. I currently have a boomba BOV (yeah it hurt the wallet) but it you're looking for the bov sound, all you need to do is pull the factory recirculation valve hose off and cap the end on the intake with a rubber cap and clamp. In addition to the bov, i have a SXTH Element carbon SRI (I didn't want to wait for the airbox CAI version, which is now available) and Evilla Motorsports catback straight pipe exhaust. I have a couple interior mods too like a suede and perforated leather stitch on steering wheel cover and billet paddle shifter extenders. One thing I want to get for it is a jb4 tuner for it but they run around $700 for app controlled mapping. I'm in the process right now of putting in 2 12" Kicker CVXs. I came to the forums to find wiring diagrams of the factory Harman Kardon amplifier to tap into for the line out converter. And to answer your last question, K3 is what the Forte is known as in South Korea. The K3 GT is the same as the Forte GT.

Well I can tell you it runs better then it did like this. An I had a 8hp dyno gain so I know it works.
Hood up or hood closed? Of course you'll see a gain with the hood up, the element is exposed and all the heat generated by the turbocharger is escaping.

Actually what you want from an intake is three things -

1) Pull in a source of cooler air
2) Use the Helmholtz Tuning Technique to increase flow
3) Positive Manifold Pressure aka Boost

All sources of air outside of the engine bay are preferable, the tuning is done for you by the manufacturer and it reflected in the cost.

Finally positive manifold pressure is only possible with enclosed intakes.

Noise or Performance?
