My 21 GT has 24k miles and I’ve noticed that as time goes by my transmission seems to be getting louder. Especially when coming to a stop or putting the car in reverse it’s load and clear and super noticeable. Does anybody else have a similar issue?

Take it to the dealer and have them listen to it.

Reverse is gonna be louder than the other gears. That's just inherent to the design. If everything else is getting louder too then it's dealer time

I get a bunch of “clunk-clunk-clack-clack” sounds from the bell housing area at low speeds... Very similar sounds that an old 4 speed muscle car would make in the input shaft area... dealerships are worthless at preventive measures... I will let it blow apart then tow it in.

Check this thread/videos 2021 Kia Forte GT Unusual Throttle Issue | Page 3 | Kia Forte Forum (forteforums.com) is it the same issue? Poor guy ended up selling the car. I am too having noises with the transmission. I am tempted on just getting rid of it also.

I have both a 2020 and 2022 GT and the 2022 definitely shifts different and louder when coming to a stop. My local dealers aren't that willing to do much other than suggest tire alignments and a $50 fuel treatment with oil changes whenever I have taken either car in because I bought them out of state to avoid markups

Time to find a different dealer. My local dealer is great and I bought the car half way across the country from them

not everyone has dealers easily accessible to them. Nearest one is over 60 miles away, next closest is almost 100 miles. Neither provide loaners and being that I work 6-7 days weekly, until the car is well broken, it's not going in. I tried to take it in for the noisy steering when cold and they told me i'd be in a rental for weeks at my expense. Love my car, hate the dealers in my "area"

My local dealer is an hour away. Kind of a pain. Luckily don't need to go that often.

Unless something catastrophic happens to my forte I will never step foot in a Kia dealership again.... I have bought many new cars in the past ... even a home and never went through the stupid shit financing put me through.. I will never contribute another penny to their company..... unless I get another forte... haha.

2020 gt dct here. Seems to be common I'd guess. I had the same noises when coming to a stop, the downshift to first and it'd "click, click, clunk" all the time lol. I had the transmission checked for the clutch shudder issue(tech bulliten) at the dealer and they ended up replacing the clutch and actuator multiple times because of adjustment issue. ultimately ended up just replacing the entire transmission at 35-40k miles I believe. It was in the shop for 11 weeks and had engineers from California fly in to check it out supposedly.

Still does the same thing.. Shudders and clunks randomly.... I just accepted it as a feature.

Also, still have the issue where it randomly bogs down and loses acceleration after first putting into drive.. Sigh....

I'm having the same issue. Mine started at 10k miles intermittently. And now 20k+ miles in, I can pretty much make the nose on command. I visited two kia dealers in Arizona. The one in Tempe told me I was delusional and that it was probably water bottles that I was hearing. So I visited another location in Mesa. Which I was told that this mechanic has 30 years under his belt. He pretty much said that's the way it goes. And that it is just how the transmission is on these cars. But I still wonder why in the first 10k miles I never experienced a sound. And why some people I have talked to are not dealing with the same issue. Although it's good to know I'm not alone. After reading about the previous comment about the transmission being replaced. We can sum up that this car is a loud tormenting vehicle that came from the depths of hell. I have a full 100k warranty. So if I have a transmission failure. I'll come back and repost.

Another reason I’m glad I waited for the MT. I’m sure there is something going on and it’s not just “the way it is”. Definitely keep us posted.

Hopefully you’ll post more than just when the transmission goes kaboom.

BTW, I’m in Gilbert. Nice to see another metro PHX member.
