2022 Forte GT Powered Subwoofer

I bought a JBL Basspro micro for my 2022 forte. I know I have to use the low end output from the rear speakers instead of RCAs. Is there a way to get the input from the factory subwoofer? Has anyone installed a powered subwoofer in theirs and if so any advice?

I am doing mine soon. I have a 2022 with teh HK system and its pretty lacking. I will use an Audio Control ACM1.300 and tap off the dual Voice coils at the sub. Worst case you can tap off the wires right in to the high level input of an Amp and then to the sub. Really depends what level of quality you want. I am using a JL 10W3 in a sealed enclosure.
I was able to get my system up and running and I’m loving it. I’m working on getting pictures then I plan on writing a tutorial. I wanted to make sure nothing I did was irreversible, include splicing wires. Aside from the firewall hole I was successful. I did some testing and was able it use alligator clips crimped to speaker wire that was then ran to an LC2i. Sounds crazy but works amazing. I then ran the power wire down the drivers side, and drilled a hole in the firewall near a support post behind the pedals. For ground I laid the back seats down, unbolted one of the backrest bolts, sanded to metal, and made the connection. I’ve got 2 Kicker CompC 12s in a custom ported box running off 600 watts and they rattle the car to death and make the trunk look like it’s made of rubber.

That is correct. The stock subwoofer is dual voice coil, that is why it has two sets of positive/negative terminals.

There is no reason to make it more complicated than that, tapping the sub is all you need to do.

The sub output is likely 200-150 Hz down to 20 Hz. Though the power you need to hear anything below 30 Hz is more than the stock amp can manage, which is why I installed the bass tube. IB or Infinite Baffle plays all the way down to whatever the speaker is rated for, however as I said you need a substantial amount of power, it's not being provided here.

Ported enclosures are vastly more efficient which is why 50 watts is very loud. I've had a 100 watt tube before, it's not that much louder actually, only a little.

You are only providing the amp a signal, it's already crossover (75 hz, fixed). To get the adjustable crossover you need the 250D model and optional knob which has an adjustment between 60 Hz and 250 Hz.
I'm putting in a spare tire sub with a built-in amp that will take low or high inputs. Should I tap one coil or both? Should I use the low or high connections to my new amp? Sorry I know this thread is old :p

If you go back to page 1, I explained the factory sub is dual voice coil meaning it has two positive and negative terminals. The spare tire sub, I know of two on the market but most familiar with the JBL version. You tap both because the powered sub is dual voice coil as well. Everything in the box should be provided for installation. You need a crimp tool or wire strippers. Possibly a saw to cut the provided spare tire mounting screw if it's too long. Use high level inputs don't assume RCA or low level is better.
