Bumper to bumper warranty is done. Only power train is left.

 

Fixed the original caliper though so all is good for now. Btw fixing a wheel stud is ridiculous. That is a job I will not take on.

 

But if anyone has any tips for wheel studs I would be more then happy to hear them!!

 

I did this to my 2017 KIA FORTE when changing my wheel studs. The thread is called 2017 KIA FORTE WHEEL STUD. There are pick of what I did to install new wheel stud.

 

Air chisel hammer, hammer, 3lbs to 5lbs sledge at the problem one will push out. Not hard to remove & install.

Installing new 1 can be done with wheel lug nuts or with bolts of same thread pitch. Use tire iron, socket+socket wrench or impact to pull wheel stud back into hub.

An automotive garage can have them repair.

 

The only problem is the dust shield is in the way. And the only way to take the dust shield is taking the wheel hub off. I was trying to avoid that.

 

Look for the 2017 KIA FORTE WHEEL STUD on here. I made cut to dust shield and shaved some of the wheel stud head some to make it fit ( pic of that there also ). After making the cut to the dust shield. All I take off when changing the wheel stud is: wheel, brake rotor & caliper.

 

Sometimes & rare, there will be an area that allows the removal & installation of wheel hub studs without removing anything.

Look around & see. If there's none at all. You have to remove to complete repair.
