2022 Kia Forte GT-Line slight thump sound in front right area of car. Only once when first starting to drive.

Hello! I recently bought a Kia Forte 2022 GT-Line new and have noticed when starting a trip I hear a single slight thud/pop noise from the front right area of the car (maybe near the tire)? It seems to happen after starting the drive after moving like 5 feet forward but not while driving. Is it something to be concerned about and/or should I bring it to the dealership? Thanks!

If you have a thump sound and it happens often enough to hear it - yes, take it to the dealer for diagnosis.

NO way for us to determine what is causing it - if you are driving the car and it stops and starts normal then it's a small problem. Just get it looked at as soon as you can,

My '22 LXS with the IVT (CVT) makes a similar sound when first moving. I'm guessing it is a transmission chain engaging.

Interesting, just from the front right area of your car and just once? I'm planning to take my car to the dealership to make sure soonish.

Mine does the same after backing up and going forward, never from just going forward
Did you get it checked out by the dealership or a mechanic? It sounds like exactly the same as my thing
Yes but not resolved, i test drove another LXS and it did the same
Reaching way back in my memory, I think Chevy's old two-speed PowerGlide had a similar bump on takeoff. I compare the Kia IVT to the PG because they both have that slip-sliding feeling. The more things change....
I second third and fourth that I am hearing/feeling it on my 2022 gt-line as well it’s slight but noticeable and as Described it happens at first take off , if and when anybody finds out anything please post I’m going to wait hopefully one of you guys dealership has a good mechanic since ovid the quality of service across the board is way down ,I had two small bubbles in my sidewall brand new car and they telling me the tires are not COVERD 😡get home go thru my manual billfold and there it is tires covered by manufacture tried to charge me $170 for a $1<< tire smdh

Tires are covered by the manufacturer. Warranty replacement should be done on a pro-rated basis based on mileage. Go to another tire store that represents that brand and see if you get a different answer. Also, contact the manufacturer directly. As defects represent a safety hazard, and the company doesn't want to be sued, they may intervene for you.

I have a 2023 Forte LXS and it does the exact same thing. Only on first takeoff after the car has been off. If I put it in park , but don’t turn it off, then drive again it won’t do it
I just bought a 2023 Kia forte 2 weeks ago which only has 400 miles on it and it does the exact same thing! Once I start the car and drive about 5mph I hear a clunk noise once and then never again after driving. This happens every time I start the car from being off since I bought the car. What is this????

Did you ever get this issue resolved or find out what it is? My 2023 forte I just bought new does the same thing!
Is it possibly the sound of the doors auto locking?
Is it possibly the sound of the doors auto locking?
Yeah. It’s not the doors auto locking. They auto lock once I put the car in reverse or drive. It only happens when the cars foward driving around 5mph on every start. The noise only happens when the car is started from being off. If I keep the car running and park and resume drive the thump does not happen.
I'd ask them to check the lower control arm bushings. Maybe it's just one that isn't seated properly? IDK, I'm NOT a mechanic. Just trying to think outside the box.
