The aftermarket Chineseium made backup camera I installed (a ur or 2 ago) sometimes glitches sporadically whenever I shift into reverse.

I always, physically turn my head, use all 3 mirrors when I backup/reverse. I use the camera to verify what I can't see past the truck deck lid is clear.

I just needed the wires/pins layout. Ground, video trigger/reverse, power & negative.
