Has anyone installed these on their Forte?

3 Way LED side mirror

I am planning to get those but was wondering if any one has experience in the installation. I'm curious to know if there is any "tweak" to make on the actual wiring to make the bottom LED light up when opening the doors?

You'd have to tap into the dome lights. See the http://www.forteforums.com/forums/do-yourself-articles/5273-led-puddle-lights-diy.html thread for reference. Exact same concept except you are running to the mirror instead of the base of the door.

Truthfully, you can accomplish the same thing w/o spending all that money. You'd just need an LED to mount to the bottom of the mirror housing.

Thanks for the link, this will involve removing the mirrors as well.. Maybe I need to give it some more thought and re-consider how to best achieve this mod. My initial aim was also to get the LED lights on the side mirror as well...

They sell replacement mirrors (Only the glass part not the whole housing) for $80.

As far as the light to illuminate the ground, look around here: LEDs - underbody kits, cathodes, flexible LED strips, dome lights
Something like this should be plenty bright.

I think in the end you can get away for a good bit cheaper than buying the whole thing.
