OH! 300hp!!!!!!!
By spring they may mean t the autoshow showing off a 2012.So i was talking with my kia guy today discussing the forte and if they are coming out with a turbo version of the car. He told me that that were testing the 2.4 as the turbo concept car, but i guess they kept blowing transmissions so they opted out since kia cover power train in there warranty. So he told me that by spring they are coming out with a near 300 hp on the 2.0 litres "direct". Not to sure what tha means but im assuming some sort of supercharger perhaps. But if this comes to pass ill def be at the kia dealership with my old forte ready to trade in.
Direct for direct injection... Like in the new 2.4L GDI Sonata. So i was talking with my kia guy today discussing the forte and if they are coming out with a turbo version of the car. My question is, how do they get 300hp from a 2.0l without forced induction? when I think the Sonata is pushing the 2.4l as far as it can go at 200hp without a turbo.
I agree a turbo its the easier cheaper way to get 300 hp out of a 2.0 or a 2.4
still going to cost more to buy a kia koup if they do the turbo or a supercharged motor pushing 300 hp not 40,000 thankfully but I see the price going up a bit.
and yeah I don't think they can get too much more hp ou of a n/a motor either and keep it reliable
they could possibly get 220 or so out of a 2.4l with direct injection and a lot of workMy question is, how do they get 300hp from a 2.0l without forced induction? when I think the Sonata is pushing the 2.4l as far as it can go at 200hp without a turbo. I think if it has a 2.0l with anything close to 300hp then it will be forced induction, probably turbo. I don't think car companies will spend what it takes to get a supercharger to produce those numbers. Look at the cars that have superchargers, how many are under $30k. hell $40k
As long as it whips the SI MPG won't matter...LoL If you buy a pure performance car you expect worse mileage...can't have everything!276hp, same as the sonata 2.0T. If they really do make a Koup with that, expect it to cost same or more than a civic si. Not to mention you're not going to get anywhere near as good mpg.
Thats what I was trying to sayI know, and I'd be fine with that too. I just hope everyone here realizes that you get what you pay for, this "turbo koup" won't cost the same or even remotely close to what the current koup costs. It'd still be the best car for your money, albeit closely priced with a 2011 mustang it would definitely have some competition.
performance by increasing volumetric efficiency= BETTER mpg, if driven conservatively, not worse. As long as it whips the SI MPG won't matter...LoL If you buy a pure performance car you expect worse mileage...can't have everything!
we definitely need a limited slip diffCould the koup pass for a performance car without adding a LSD or sway bars? Would there need to be changes in the gear ratios too. I mean sure if you slap a turbo in there it wiL go faster but will it even feel good to drive under those conditions?
