$76 Veloster N Short Shifter Fits

I installed the Veloster short shift adapter today. It does require 2 slight modifications. I also installed the solid shifter base bushings. I did not measure the throw before I installed but after the throw from 3rd to 4th is 3.5 inches from the center of the knob. It requires a little more effort but not in a bad way. The shifts feel the way I was hoping short and crisp now. It does take a little time to install but for under $100 it is worth it. Do the solid shifter base bushings at the same time, there is nothing negative about them and the shifter feels so crisp and solid now. My favorite part is the shifter is still the stock height so I can still use the cupholders easily. I will post a couple pics of the install and modification as well. I have not installed the shift cable solid bushings yet. To be honest I am not sure if I will or not since I am very happy with the way it is right now.

Here is the first modification that needs to be made. That stud is not used on our model and needs to be removed for clearance. It snaps right of easily.

The second thing you need to do is move the yellow wiring as far as possible to the passenger side with zip ties and undoing one hold down

All the forward gears have plenty of clearance, Reverse just touches the top of the yellow harness but it works fine

And one tip to make it easier, you do NOT need to remove the shift knob or unplug everything from the center console. If you lift the center console top panel you can easily unclip the boot and slid it through the console top panel. You do need to remove the whole center console base to do this swap but you can watch several videos that show how to remove everything. Just skip the shift knob removal, and don't forget to swap the little white adapter that snaps over the ball end.

Nice! Glad you were able to make it work. Just be careful - yellow wiring is airbag stuff. I'd check every once in a while to make sure it isn't chafing the wiring

I debated if I was going to put 1/8 inch spacers under each corner of the shifter base but decided it was fine. Thanks for measuring your old shifter ball end so I knew ahead of time if i was wasting my time.
