I was in the dealership today getting my spoiler installed and one of the service writers informed me that he had just heard about an airbag recall that should be surfacing soon and to stay tuned to get something in the mail regarding this. Has anyone else heard about a brand new airbag recall?

The recall was issued on 4/23/2010.

Short Summary:
This Service Bulletin provides information relating to an upgrade of the functioning of the logic in the Airbag Control Unit in some 2010MY Forte 4 door vehicles, with production dates ranging from March 3, 2009 through January 11, 2010, to increase the range of impacts in which the side and curtain airbags will deploy. This upgrade will bring these vehicles in line with current Forte production. The ACU logic in these vehicles is in compliance with all governmental safety standards.
This bulletin provides information on how to reprogram the Forte ACU. Please follow the service procedure outlined below.

yep..all they have to do is download a new airbag program through the OBDII port under the dash...about 15 minutes.
