I'd agree I can't explain the technical point here to well but I do know that tcs is going to limt the car by killing the power amount put to the ground so I'd think your right to feel like there is a change in feel of the pants when driven with out it.

Ya the TCS is the same type as the one in hyundai genesis. So basically it cuts down on the rpm's. The ECO however never turns off. You can just choose to turn the indicator light off. All the eco light does is pop up when your getting max mpg (as in no sudden rev of the throttle etc).

But ya with the TCS off i notice a large difference especially when i get up on it. Am actually in the habit now of just shutting it off after i start the car. Drives so much better/quicker without it.

i have to full heartedly agree about the TCS but like they said, the ECO light has nothing to do with it.

my old cars, 97 sentra and 99 civic had no TCS and I drove them just fine.

I just bought my forte:), and I just broke the 500 mile mark so I thought I would finally let it out a little today. I live in a rural hilly windy area. I am familiar with the roads. I decided to take my speed up on a few corners to feel out the suspension.

the tcs actually scared the crap out of me  with the partial braking thing. i had to slow down because i didnt understand exactly how to take a fast turn well with the TCS turned on.

I turned it off and it handled nice though.:D

mine did that this morning in the wet weather and scared the pants of me when the
car tried to correct it self in a slide turn !

yeah thats exactley what happened to me.. I was like Holly crap bat man! I've learned if I want to drive the car they way I like to drive I have to turn that tcs off.. its kind of irronic to me I'd think it would help more and not impede so much but oh well atleast there is a way to turn it off ;)
