Any new annoyances?

So we all know about the "transfer complete" and semi-chattery idling. Anything about your car bugging you?

I love my car. Ive gotten used to the transfer complete, and i just had them fix the power-steering line rubbing issue that was making that ugly sound but there is still a couple things i need to resolve.

1. In the morning lately (i think because its been cold) there is a sound coming from the roof liner thats driving me nuts. I dont know where but it seems right above me. Might be behind the sunroof cover.

2. My keys touching my knee in the ignition. Its drives me crazy. I need a detachable keyring

3. there have been two instances now that one of my DDM HID lows has failed to turn on. I noticed in a reflection once, and a buddy seen me on the freeway brought it to my attention. it fixes by turning them off and then on again but I'm always worried I'm driving around with one off now.

ever since i got my car broken into and window busted out, i have had to get my drivers side window replaced 3 times. the guys that are doing it apparently are having a hard time getting the glass out of in between the door and when i use the windown, i hear this awful scraping noise. its getting old and hopefully this time will be the trick. gotta get it fixed before the end of the year!! other than that, i cant stand the rattling in the car. never had that problem with my mazda6 or my focus and this car has it bad.

just an FYI, my old HID kit started to do that and 3 weeks later the right bulb wouldnt turn on period. are you running a relay? or just the ballast and bulbs?
Overall I really enjoy the Forte Koup. I love the modern lines of the sheetmetal, the sports tuned suspension, the well made cloth seats with red stitching, metal pedals and all the options the SX offers. Excellent air conditioning and heating, great stereo and bluetooth, very good MPG..overall it's a great car. It's true the insulation could be improved upon, the rattles here and there need to be ironed out..better alignment of the windows [in some cases]...so there is room for some improvements. Considering this is a new model car...its pretty damn good. Compared to an equally equiped Chevy Cobalt...the Koup is light years ahead in every category.

I have the harness relay on my lows, and not on the fogs. but my fogs arent having any issue. Me or my buddy dont remember which light it was that was out.
Was yours a DDM kit?
Things annoying me:

1. Cold transmission. (when it's below 40F, its sticks (normal), and its jerky )
2. Rattle at 2500-3000 when its cold ( below 40)

both problems go away once it warms up, remote starter fixes the issue :D

3. oil leak on a brand new car. (getting it fixed now, been without my koup for 2 days going on 3, don't even have a loaner)
4. Tires got bald after 4000 miles, i drive hard, but not that hard, tires have lasted me over 30,000 miles before. i expected at least 15,000 from the koup. (trying to claim a warranty on them)
5. Humidity in my passenger side headlight. (legit water droplets, not just fogging)
6. Parking brake needs to be completely up to engage (tried to get the dealer to adjust it, they won't, "it would wear the pads out too quickly)
7. slightly out of alignment from the factory (pulls to the right, getting it fixed with the oil leak)
8. on really cold mornings, (20F), my brakes are noisy, not squeaky, just noisy as if there are rocks in them, goes away after applying the brakes 2-3 times. i am guessing the pads and rotors are kinda frozen in place (or have ice in-between them), so couple of pumps warm them up and i never feel it/ hear it again.

BTW,

My high beams do that sometimes, i just thought it's because they're 55W on a Harness. DDM 55W :)

Although i'm having all these problems, i love my koup to death and i never regret getting it. got into an Si today, and still prefer the koup. :)

i'm a little upset at:

-paint peeling off of the shift knob.
-paint peeling off of the top grill
-so many scratches from my keys around the ignition, it scratches so freakin easily
-rattles in the driver and passenger doors when music is playing, starts at around volume 8 on the dial.
The rattling in my car is the only problem I have. I need to dynomat it, that should take care of everything. I mean if an Lexus IS-F has the same rattling noises as mine... I think some new speakers and dynomat-ing the car should be fine... perfect in fact. I love my car in every way, once it's dynomatted... I'll fall in love all over again.
- sometimes cannot read USB stick and must turn off engine and back on to force the radio unit to read it.

- maybe 5% or less of time, the fog light take a second or two before it comes on if I turn on both the headlight and fog light at the same time.

- cannot get rid of sticky/greasy residue from rear window. I can't wipe it too hard for the fear of damaging the defrost wires.

- sticky 1st to 2nd gear when cold. Hard noise if I push into 2nd too fast.

- soft shift shock when pushing into 1st ( less than 5% of time)

- rattle/fast clicking like noise when shifting while engine is cold ( below freezing )

i've had the same thing, right above where the rear headrests are?? i've windexed it, vinegared it, nothing seems to get rid of it, and it always fogs up first.
talking to a friend about H.I.D.s today and he said they need to be ran through a relay to really do it right, so maybe thats the problem? I always assumed just install them and mount the ballasts but idk lol
he runs a mobile mechanic/body shop and he's been pretty successful at it so I'm inclined to believe him
^ sry didn't read that you were running them through the low relay
and I have a couple annoyances still lol:
1- hard to go into 1st and 2nd before it's warmed up, switched to mobil 1 synthetic 75w90 (calls for 75w85 but it's impossible to find lol, not thinking that small bit thicker is going to make that difference) so I'm thinking it's those shifter bushings being frozen, then slowly warming up (asked instructor and he agreed, said it could also be our car calls for lighter weight oil in winter, gotta check manual for that). Going to get a short shifter so not too worried about it lol
2- the damn numbers from shipping are still on my windshield lol, they show up when it fogs a bit
3- squeaky/rattly dash area and seat, and I keep my change in the top part of the center box, so that rattles lol, gonna lay some cloth in there maybe
4- the cars just too nice, people talk sh!t til they ride in it, then they shut up lol=] I love it, plan on keeping it for a LOOOOOONG time.

I am glad to say that currently the only thing that is annoying me is the fact that I can't get in or out of my car without someone asking about it.
Rattle from trunk area or rear seat teather baby seat latch when I roll over slight bumps/driving.

speaker rattle.

Key hole area gets scratched even tho I dont remember missing when inserting key (maybe its from the keyfob or something else) - thinking about adding one of those fake carbon fibre stickers over the area next spring/summer.

Those bastards :p

About the keys hanging down... That's what makes the flip key so great, I don't have any keys attached to it and so nothing can dangle and hit it. :] Plus it's probably one of my favorite 'mods' so far lol
^The fact that I couldn't set up my flip key pisses me off a lot.
1. The dealer replaced my dash applique, now the #1 button sticks on my radio (reprograms the preset every time).

2. Cold transmission shifting issue

3. E-brake is WAY too loose. I asked the service manager about this and he said that there was no adjustment for it, which leads me to my next complaint.

4. The dealership in my area is PATHETIC. They tore my interior up, while replacing my applique and have only looked at about half of the things I complained about. That could be due to the fact that the service manager/ writer doesn't actually write anything down- just writes tickets from his memory.

5. The amount of fuel I burn just because I offer to drive everywhere. Despite its flaws, I really do love my car.
'Transfer complete', the rattles in the rear door speakers, the squeaky passenger seat (greased it 3 times now), and the times I shift and I know i shifted perfectly and yet the car still seems to clunk into 3rd. Still the best car I've ever owned, the first that I havent needed to get anything major looked at in its first 20k miles.

Why couldn't you?
forgot about the speakers too
nothing that I can't easily fix, so not too bothersome really.
