If you bought your SX 2.4 in Maryland, could you do me a favor? Open up the air box and let me know if you have a charcoal filter in the lid of the air box. I live in Maryland but bought my car in York Pa. My car has the second filter in the lid. Don't know if it was a Pennsylvania requirement or if Maryland needs it also. Some folks on the forum don't have this second air filter. So if you could lift you lid and let me know if there is a filter in there, I'd appreciate it.

I'm going to the dealer on Friday so I could ask about it then, but I'm curious to know now. Thanks.

by the way ,,i can take some pictures with filter and sent it to you ,,because,,i don't wanna drive my car all the way to your place,,,

Thanks for the offer, but I went ahead and removed the filter from the lid four or five months ago.

You guys are missing the point. I wanted to know if the second air filter was a 'Maryland' thing for emissions. It seems that some Fortes don't have a second filter. I still don't know the answer since no one checked for me. I've since removed the second filter.
