Auto Insurance suggestion/info

I ran into the issue of much higher car insurance when my wife and I got a 2011 forte koup sx. Our insurance went from 120 to 180 a month, even with much less coverage with the new car. I contacted my insurance company and they openly admitted to being much higher on Kias. My insurance company happened to be progressive and was much cheaper with everything else up to this point. I checked out state farm and it was 300 a month with the same coverage with progressive. Keep in mind this is without any tickets and only being faulted for 1 accident ever. I then checked out geico, and took us back down to 130 a month for higher coverage than even before the car switch. Just something to keep in mind for those looking to save a few dollars.

Word to the wise...always shop around! You can get quotes on-line from nearly every insurance company (obviously if you're reading this you can shop around on-line) -- it costs you nothing either.
Rates depend a lot on where you live, what the accident rate is, and what the theft rate is.
Don't always rely on one company even if you think their rates are the lowest -- when its time to renew...SHOP AROUND!
$41/month with USAA for a Forte Koup SX. A whopping 67 cents cheaper than my Celica.

But then I'm married, homeowner, over 25, and not living in a crazy cost of living area so I can drive pretty much anything for around the same price.

Plus USAA usually gives a dividend back each year...so people in the Military should definitely check into USAA. But be warned...USAA is usually higher for your teenagers...in my case 3 times more than Allstate wanted. Shop around!
