Banging Noise

Recently my car has been making this weird banging & loud noise, like as if someone was punching the underpart of the car.. Even when I'm parked.. it kinda sounds like a backfire..Its quite new.. im at 1K miles...
Haven't done many upgrades yet, just intake and replaced the stock muffler to a freeflow one...

Normal. Its the car cooling down....4bangers are notorious for that sound when parked...

Banging and loud noise? Does it sound more like a pinging noise? Most likley I agree its the exhaust system cooling, but that makes more of a pinging noise, not a loud banging noise.

its more like a bang... like if u took a wrench and hit under the car... its really wierd and loud, the strange thing is that it happens randomly, so i cant really relate it to nothing... it has happened while almost at a complete stop, while crusing, even when ive just turned on the car etc. :confused::confused:

Sounds odd, have the dealer have a look at it, can you feel anything from the pedals? is it more underneath your seat? back seats?

That description doesnt sound to me like the cooling down sound I hear.. I'd have the dealer look too and try to get them to hear it.

noup.. nothing on the pedals.. and I feel it like near the back of the passenger seat. . . dunno

You stated that you had the stock muffler replaced......take another look at that install....could be a problem with that.:confused:
