Best Jacking Points?

I've noticed that the sheet metal near the factory jacking points is starting to separate. Just to be clear, I'm referring to the pinch-welded seams that run down the sides of the car. I'd like to safely lift the car for changing wheels/etc without putting more wear on these seams.

Where do you guys like to jack up your cars if you don't want to use these factory jacking points?

I have this jack, haven't used it yet but it's quite nice.

I have a rapid pump jack and the surface area of the jacking point is big enough and flat that it doesnt damage the welds.

This jack actually. It has been great. And bc the sx has such stiff suspension i can put it in the middle of the car and 3.5 pumps later the whole side is in the air and i can put it on jack stands lol.

Does anyone know of a safe single point to jack up the koup's back end? I've read the tow hook idea is not good, but not sure if there is a single point I can put the jack to raise both sides at once?
Umm the shower I guess... What an odd question to ask lol

Oh sorry, just read the rest of the thread...carry on...
Lmao .l.

This is where it's at..

Center of the rear axle beam and jack stands at each side once up. Jack slowly and maybe have a buddy ready to steady it in case it wants to lean one way or the other and place the stands as needed.

That's what I did too... just put a block of wood under the rear axle beam. In the front I think I used to go under the front cross member
I use a hockey puck for my pinch welds. Reason I asked is that I've only got one floor jack and going back and forth with that and the spare tire jack in order to get it up on jack stands seemed like a lot of work, lol!

It is Lol. Sometimes jacking is more of a workout than the actual service your attempting lmao.
it may be a bit of work, but your going that extra mile to protect the cars sheet metal
I always try to lift my car by putting the jack under the control arms when possible. I noticed the same thing when I lifted my car up using the jack points while installing some of my strut bars. When I rested my car on jack stands I actually bent the jack point a bit. Both sides now have indents from where the jacks were resting.

When I saw it bend I almost crapped my pants. You need a jack with lots of surface area not small 2 ton jack stands like I used.
Crack me up, I did the same thing and dont trust those points either. Made me laugh on your note. :)
