Bought a Black Koup SX last Monday. Love it! I have never owned a black car and am having a hard time with it so far. At first glance after I wash the car it looks BEAUTIFUL. As I dry the car I notice lots of scratches and swirls in the black paint. Is this normal? The dealership is going to buff the car for me this week.

Anybody noticed that on one side of the car there is a metallic trim piece above the door handle, and on the other side it is carbon fiber black? Weird huh? We took it back to the dealership and looked at all of the SX's on the lot. Some were mismatched and others were all metallic or all black carbon fiber. WEIRD!

Any help would be great!

Black is going to be one of the most difficult colors to keep swirl free, it's definitely normal. Make sure they know what they're doing when they buff out the car, as it may come out worse than when it came in. Also, when you take the car in to get serviced, always tell them that you don't want the car washed, and that you'll just do it yourself. Dealers stink at washing cars, you'll leave with more swirls than you started with.

Did you get a chance to snap photos of the trim piece?

That method shows a thumbnail of the image that you need to click on to see.
The other way to do it is to upload the image somewhere on the web. eg: photobucket. ( I have webspace through my ISP and just upload to a folder there).

Then use the "Insert Image" button (mountains on a postcard) above to enter the URL of that image on the web.

That way tou see a larger image on the post.

For some reason the server keeps blocking me. Saying its Forbidden. Post the pictures right on here if you can. whats the last six digits of your VIN?
Something is up with the server, If I insert a new picture and preview it, it shows, as soon as I post it, it gets the red X.

If you post the URL to a picture, it seems to work fine.

The dealership fixed it yesterday. I had them put the SX trim on both sides not only because I have an SX but I do like the look of it better.
