Hi everyone;

Picked up my car today :)D) and LOVE it. It's been nothing but fantastic for the brief period of time I've owned it. I've put 140km on it so far.

I tried syncing the bluetooth to my phone, but the "girl" that comes over the speakers speaks in Spanish, and for the life of me I can't figure out how to change it to English. As such, I have no idea what she's telling me!

Any help would be most appreciated... gracias!

Calgary, AB. Will get back to you re: voice recognition. I tried it before by saying "English", but it does nothing.

Solved! As pointed out in the other thread, hold the hands free button on the steering wheel for about 15 seconds. It will announce the language it's currently in as well as the language it's switching too. Repeat as necessary (switches between Spanish -> English -> French).

How to CORRECTLY change language for Bluetooth

There are some important things to know about changing the blue tooth language. First, you must have the radio on and the volume loud enough to hear. Second, press and hold the TALK button (lower right on steering wheel) for 10-15 seconds until the radio goes silent and the radio display reads, "PLEASE WAIT". Release the TALK button at this time. In a moment, the voice will speak in its currently set language, followed by an announcement that it is switching into another language (spoken in that new language). For example, you may hear French, followed in English by something like, "Changing language to English". To change the language again, repeat the same steps. Be sure radio is on with volume up and release the TALK button when the display reads, PLEASE WAIT. That should do it for you. Changing bluetooth language to English?

I've tried holding down talk button for 10-15 seconds but still have a different language than english in my bluetooth voice audio in my 2018 Forte - she is not speaking english. Other than going to a Kia Dealership, is there any other options I can try to get her to speak english?

I tried selecting options in the display in foreign language not knowing what the words were and hit on a language option and was able to see & select "English" to change. Accidental but issue resolved.

I could not hear the language change announcements no matter how high I put the radio volume before I got started. The answer, that I discovered, was when the “Please Wait” comes up on the radio then you have to change the volume up and you will be able to hear the announcement. Then as instructed above, just do the same procedure until you get to the language you want.
