I’m here cause I have the same issue. I have a 2019 Forte and within the last year or so this started happening to me. I have the bubble on the right side. Additionally an issue I keep running into is that my screen will freeze. I notice when I press on the screen and rotate my finger like you are taking a finger print, that the screen indents and you can see the pressing breaking through the freeze moment. Then, it will either fix itself there or extra freeze and I have to unplug my phone and try to start over. It gets really frustrating when the screen freezes while using a map. It sucks seeing on so many different forums that a lot of people are having the same issue but there has been no recall about it.

This sounds like what some have said happened to theirs, with "false touches".

The breakdown of your screen may be causing phantom touch events on the screen which is locking up or slowing down the response.

If this is what is causing your problem, a screen replacement is needed. If you're not able to do the replacement yourself, search for automotive audio repair or refurbishers in your area. If they will install customer-provided parts, you could order the replacement display yourself, otherwise the repair house may have a supplier source for them (or you could provide the link I have in my previous post). Note that it took me 10 days to receive the screen after ordering but it could take as long add three weeks. Also remember that my replacement screen cost me $199.99 +tx USD and that would be in addition to labor costs to replace it if you're not doing the work yourself.

I've researched online, I've gone to local aftermarket car audio places, and I went to Kia. My local Kia dealer offered a remanufactured unit for $800 with a 12 month warranty. They also said that if a recall occurs, I will get my $800 back. I doubt that a recall will occur since this is not a safety issue. But I don't plan on owning the car after 12 more months anyway, so I considered this my best option.

They charged me a 3% fee for using my credit card for the purchase which REALLY was unnecessary and annoying. But I would rather just get it fixed than have to look at it every time I get in my car. I will be in the market for a new car in about a year. I had been considering a Sportage but Kia is now off the list.

Please call Kia corporate. I just did and they offered to pay f650%of the repair. I told them that wasn't good enough and they are going
look into how many people call with the same complaints maybe it'll be a recall. Let your voice be heard please!

No luck on recall but the cheapest fix if you're a technical person would be to buy the display from eBay and install it yourself. Aside from that, perhaps find a local shop who can do the work for you. The parts will cost about $199.99 plus tax, then you'll pay labor for the shop to remove the head unit, repair it and reinstall it.

Found this after googling what might be happening with my 2020 sportage. It started happening right at the 3 year mark and is also on the right side. The buttons still work fine and although frustrating I am glad to see I am not alone. Still not great of them to recall this and make it right.

I have 2019 Kia Forte S and the radio displauly is starting to bubble up too. I bought my car this past December as a CPO. I went to the dealership this morning. They told me it was out of warranty and to replace will cost $3500. This is crazy. This has to be a manufactuter defect that needs to be recalled. I live in Orlando. So I don't know if the heat or humidity isn't contributing to it.

2021 Kia Sportage here. Same problem. And I bought out my lease last year and extended warranty and was told (by WPB Greenway Kia) I had to take it up with the 3rd party independent warranty company. Unreal. I’m gonna call the dealership tomorrow (in Lauderdale where I bought it). This should be a recall. It’s probably only a matter of time before we all get checks in the mail from a class action suit. I hope.

My 2020 kia telluride is doing the same thing. Small bubbles appeared on the right side of the screen. The craziest part is that this didn't happen when I was in the Las Vegas heat of 115F, it happened in MS 80F.

I really hope they have a recall on the screens soon. My warranty ended 3 months ago so I'm looking at $1000 to fix it.

2020 Kia Forte GT Line and mine is starting to bubble on the right side too! I bought mine certified preowned and have had it only 2 years now so maybe it’s covered? I’m not really sure but does anyone know best course of action to get this fixed before it gets worse and where it won’t cost me money?

Make sure they dont scam yall, called the arlington heights dealer in Illinois and I shit you not they gave me an estimate of $6000 to replace the infotainment system.. then i come to these threads and see its drastically less in other parts and even online the screen itself is less than 200 bucks. This should definitely be a recall and anyone whos paid should get a refund/compensation for faulty product regardless of warranty.

2020 Sportage started about a week ago and just found the thread. Unfortunately I’m over 60,000 at this point: if I weren’t so close to paying it off I’d consider trading it by I’d like to not have a car payment for a while.
