I assume the process for the Koup will be about the same as your sedan. I also need to do this to put in some fogs.

If I'm gonna remove the bumper and put in fogs I mine as well put in some new horns too. I honked at some jaywalkers who were in my way the other day and it sounded terrible haha.

Haha to be honest you're a mean lookin dude I was expecting a train horn or a horn from a mac truck, but I like the new horn a lot better! Even though I would like to have mine have more bark, knowing myself I'll find a way to break something lol, thanks for the video though!

man, good call on the horn replacement. SOMEBODY needs to tell me why all these freakin rice rockets have the GAYEST sounding horns. don't get me wrong.....i like basically everything ELSE about my Koup. just NOT the horn. thx for the video. i'm assuming it wouldn't be that terribly different of a job with my koup as it is with the sedan.

is all of that work needed to drop in the horns? heck- what other upgrades/mods require the removal of all of that stuff?
(i ask because if a horn upgrade requires that- might as well get all of my mods in at once that require that much work)

 

Thanks for the praise everyone. I like doing this kind of thing for others, it's so much easier to get a feel for what's involved rather than a bunch of pictures and written instructions.

As far as doing the bumper on a Koup, it should be identical.

Other mods you can do at the same time are of course anything behind the bumper, eg:
Fog Lights (if not already equipped),
Horn replacement/relocation,
HID/LED or other headlight mods,
Auto Trans cooler installation,
Grill and/or emblem removal/ replacement,
Rocket launcher and machine gun installation.
Oil cooler installation,
Inter-cooler installation for those turbo addicts!

these are a few ideas to get you started.

does anyone know if the koup front bumper will fit the sedan? with the same tab fits?

 

I don't think so.

Only the hood is the same, the fenders are different so I don't think the bumper will line up with the fender. The Koup has a much more pronounced "bulge" over the wheels than does the sedan.

 

i think i will start with a machine gun turret that pops up from the sun roof. just a little pursuasion to get the traffic moving. lol

BigE, I got the freeway blaster horns from P. A. they sound almost the same as yours. Installed them at work this morning, was pretty easy only removed the grille and not the whole bumper. Thanks for the idea vid. lol

 

This seams like a better way to go. Does the bottom of the grill just pop out of the bumper? Does it has those snap tabs like we see in the video?

 

The grill has the 4 screws that pop out on the top. Then there are 2 screws on each side and 4 along the bottom that have to be unscrewed.

No wonder they don't tell you how to access the foglights anywhere..??? They could have put a little trap doors in the bottom liner to reach them. Time for the old dremel tool and plastic rivets....

And "Oh by the way" great protection on the sharp fender corner pulling the headlight out. I learned this the HARD WAY......thank got for a buffing tool and soft headlight plastic...

This bumper setup is getting more and more like a NASCAR body setup....pretty soon KIA could add stick-on headlight decals with real lights as an option..!!!

 

BigE I would have to say that you make some of the best vids on the forum. I'm taking the inserts off my sedan so I can replace them with fog lights. THis helps out soooo much. Thanks and keep threading it up. . .

 

i think if im ganna do something like that is ganna be some train horns.. 5 gallon pancake tank and half inch valve haha... will be scary coming from a kia..

 

i put in a 35 decibel air horn...its the way to go haha

 

Thank you for that info.....but I decided to just remove the four plastic rivet/screws from the top and pulled the grill out just enough to get things done.

I would say use his youtube channel, but he has them private.
Maybe it would be useful to create a youtube channel of our own, that we could add new useful videos to, as they are made?

I would be willing to get something going, bare minimum have a playlist of good videos.
