Ok... Some opinions.

Anyone have any experience with either?

Crutchfield (I know highly overpriced) seems to have a good deal on clarion. $699, free back up
Camera, and $50 gift certificate.

Anyway, looking for some real world feedback if anyone had any.

clarion is good, but (from your title) i say go with the pioneer.

Doesn't really help and kenwood is out of my price range. I'm looking sub $700.

I've had one clarion and a few Pioneers not the exact models your looking at but
I think IMHO the Clarion was much better..
one of my pioneers after a year of owning would not eject my cds I was not happy !

The clarion deal is almost too good to pass up on and ive heard/read good things but I think it's the interface that's holding me back. I'd like to see album covers and a tad more color... It just seems so blue.

well clarion is a very blue brand lol i have had a few and they all have been blue. i agree with you album covers and color is a must. but clarion is a good brand never had an issue with them.

the pioneer is the best headunit tha pioneer makes. it's definently a good one. i've had a couple friends with them and they say the haven't a problem yet.

So I've been watching a ton of videos online about the two head units and some kenwood ones as well and I think the pioneer has the nicest user interface going.

but yeah- i've done a lot of prowling of the youtube sites looking for examples of good carputer setups........and i still havent gotten a rock hard this is the one i wanna get--- i gotta say- watching the videos is a very good way to get a handle on what they do- without having to deal w/a high pressure salesman (but us experienced guys- we dont care about them do we? lol)
