Up here in the Great White North where our roads are covered in some form of abrasive particle 11 months of the year, we get a LOT of this. And we will usually not warranty it as it is impact damage. This is no different than rock chips on a hood, bumper, etc.

That said, we will usually furnish the customer with a touch up pen and have our detailer apply the first treatment on the house. But would we ask Kia to cover the bill? No, they'd laugh us right out of a franchise.

My though process is like this. If I rightfully see that this should be covered under warranty and my dealership denies to fix it under warranty. They probably will deny to fix anything else under warranty. Which to me means I will be able to mod it.
That's a huge probably. In my opinion the paint damage you have is not a warranty issue in the first place. Its wear and tear. I'm sure it happened a lot faster than you would have liked but the exterior of the car is bound to get damaged. You shouldn't assume that power train issues will be treated in the same fashion because well, they won't.

I'm sure it is. I'm just going to order a touch up pen and possibly some mud flap's as much as i hate too. As far as the warranty thing is. I'm 19 and my dad bought me this car for doing well in high school and to drive back and forth to college. He's a little old school and believes anything I do to this car is going to void my warranty so I'm not aloud to do much of anything to it. I want to mod the crap out of the car just he will not allow me to do so, so if the refused to cover it under warranty he believe they won't do anything under warranty so then I will get to mod my Koup how I would want within reason, of course.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the new honda civic has arrived - along with the ricers - Mod the crap out of it? There isn't really too much modding that needs to be done, it's a really nice car from the get go.

I by no means mean ricing the car out when i say mod the crap out of it. I have my sayings so just look past it. By mods I mean exhaust, a good intake, suspension work. a little accents here or there.

Good to know so when enough of it happens there will be a class action suit like with the Mazda 3.
