Hmmm. Every time I have ever used it or seen it used it has browned within a couple days and it's a pain to clean off. But who knows. Everybody has different experiences with everything lol.
THANK YOU!And how long do your tires take to turn brown? 2?3 days?
They are now more water based silicones and silicone is inert (does not interact with other substances). Not saying I like Armor All... I don't.the protectant ones, and other shiny dash products contain silicone and over time, it causes cracks in the dash.
Their polishes and waxes are about the best I've used. And I've used a bit (not a detailer, but I like to experiment) on my own. My weekend machine sees Autoglym stuff ONLY. HDWax and ExtraGloss protection are excellent LSP's (last step protection) to seal in all the work and filling achieved by their polishes. What about AutoGlym?? I've been using their products for a couple months now and its been really great...
Take a look at these:Today was bug and tar remover day
I scrub mine with a brush and soap powder. Get off all the gunk. And how long does it take for your tyres to turn brown
Yu had me until these two parts of your post.Armorall for the dash and interior trim
Then use Meguiars Tyre Endurance Gel. That stuff lasts really long!
WW MF towels are good but the proper way to use them is to blot the water up, not to drag the cloth across the paint.Don't remember where I first read about them, but Pep Boys carries a bath size waffle pattern microfibre towel that works great for making quick work on drying your car.

While I don't much care for AA products, I see why some people might like them. But it's that gel crap that kills me. I'm not critizing anyone for using it but I just have a personal issue with the stuff some people put on their tires. They cake crap on them, wich picks up grime, dirt and everything else. Then they don't know why their tires don't look good. It it works, great. I just see many more people complain.
Personally I use Meg's Hyperdressing (only problem is, it's not over the counter). One gallon is about $35 but you'd mix it 3:1 or 4:1 so it's really like $10/gallon. A little goes a long way. It has the ability to migrate all over the plastic/rubber, so very little is needed. When I spray tires down with water at the self serve car wash I can see some of the product benig washed off but it will last through that and the tire still looks like it was just treated. As you, I use a tire brush and the car wash soap (Gold Class... 'cause it was $2 on clearance) to clean the tire. Nothing more.
I don't like HD on the interior of the vehicle.
BTW - Great post!
Well, I would not recommend what I have not used or don't like. I do like Lexol's VinylX. Don't know if you can get that where you are at. Here its at most places here that carry auto supplies. I also like 303's Aerospace protectant but that costs a little more. I think it's a bit expensive to use on tires.Any other recommended options, besides HyperDressing? What about stuff from Griots?
Those things are BAMF! I don't have regular access to a hose though, so not very useful for meHere is one cleaning product I can't live without...
My Karcher electric pressure washer, and my foam cannon, made a quick video of me using it on my new Forte for you guys.
I can't seem to figure out how to embed it so here is the link...EDIT, ok I think I got it.
