I put Component speakers in the front of my Koup for weeks now I have been not happy with the sound. I took the factory tweeters out and mounted new ones where these use to be but the sound was too bright and in your face. Ok for when you were in the mood for loud music but when you wanted some lay back listening, no way.

So I remounted the tweeters and situated them on the top edge of the main woofer (on outside of panel), I found that the cover for the woofer can be undone from the inside of door panel. I loosened the screws and squeezed the tweeter wires thru the gap and then used 3M tape to secure the tweeter.
Now the sound is great just the right amount of brightness, I even hooked up the factory tweeter too.
I was wondering how you other guys fitted your component speakers

as soon as i get the money for mine it will be straight DD for sure and i was going to put everything in the stock locations (supposing the tweeter could fit)

Mine went into the factory location, I am very very happy with it. They are Jl VR's with the tweeter crossover set at -3. they are not to bright at all.
