So i want to get a muffler on my Koup SX 6spd. I don't want those rice burning shit mufflers ha I want one that sounds beastly with a deep growling sort of noise when it opens up. Got any suggestions? Brands?

Magnaflow, it sounds great. Don't remember the part number. Look on the forum, there's even a sound clip.
Beastly noise? Hmmmmm, lol CHERRY BOMB IT! :D
+1 for magnaflow. Cheap and sound greath !
if you can get a canadian Kia dealer to ship to you, get the SX-R Axle back exhaust, my friend has it on her Koup and it sounds louder and deeper than our stock set-up and its not overly obnoxious :) check youtube for sound clips of it (not her car, but its the SX-R exhaust im talking about)
Magnaflow for sure. Add Cold Air Intake for an even more agressive sound and performance.
how many people are running the SOLO Performance exhaust? I was listening to some of the sound clips and I think it sounded nice and you have options to how much noise you want. I'm after more of the more mellow quieter exhausts rather than the louder ones.
I listened to all 3...I thought the magnaflow sounded deeper...Less rice! I also had a magnaflow catback on my mazda and loved it. Did not sound like a fartcan and had a nice deep sound too it...If I had to choose in order with 1 being the deepest it would go...........

1)Magnaflow
2)Sx-R
3)SOLO Performance
With that said which Magnaflow muffler are we talking about (model #) and is that just the muffler or a whole catback system. I would like to do just a muffler for now for $$$$ reasons.
There are quite a few to choose from honestly...My suggestion is go to a nearest dealer and ask them which one is would be right. I provided a PepBoys link in Pensacola for you:

MagnaFlow Performance Exhaust - Dealer Locator Result Page

or goto their website and locate one even closer. There is quite a few in Pensacola.

When I had mine done on my Mazda that was about 6 years ago and my exhaust guy picked out the one he thought was right based on my need for something that sounded like what we are discussing here. The one he picked was exactly what I was looking for. You could also listen to this Magnaflow on a Forte. Keep in mind though he is flooring it so it wouldn't always be this loud.

I don't think you would be disappointed at all with a Magnaflow. Been 6 years since I totaled that Mazda which sits in Pa at my cousins house and the Stainless is just as shiny as the day I bought it. The car however has rusted out.
Well chop off the muffler and ship it down to me and I'll get it welded on. =)

Thanks for the info. and link.

There have been a few people discussing different model #'s on here in a few different places.

Actually the car is in my cousins name now...He bought it from me to sell the parts.....

Aidensgrand...Car sounds great. Just like my Mazda....I definitely plan on going with Magnaflow again once I can afford it.....

subtle insult? hahahaha, JK
Oh no...No insult...Just makes me miss my Mazda...Loved that car. No mechanical problems whatsoever with it. Great gas mileage...I will love my Kia just as much once I can actually start getting some actual mods done in the spring....Something about looking at these hubcaps everyday that makes me cringe.
Ive noticed that magnaflow has different sizes of mufflers.. Aidensgrand has a 5-inch round muffler (obviously inlet/outlet is 2.25" but the overall diameter of the muffler is 5")

I wonder what larger/smaller diameter mufflers would sound like.. is it wider=deeper?

Also, they make shorter length but same diameter mufflers.. Any expert care to explain more? Im lookin into doin it and theres a shop just up the street from my work thatll do an install CHEAP

Im DEFINITELY against the ricer sound (no offense to you that are all for the ricer sound) so I would go with the deepest sounding lol
Well id say #11225 is the least "ricey". Its relatively quiet until you punch it and even then, it sounds good. Also look at borla's mufflers. Other than that, id say a catback.

The part (and another member) says this model has a 5 inch outlet, but it looks like you have stock muffler tips, can you please elaborate on this? I prefer the look of not a 5 inch diameter hole. Is the part purchasable with different configurations?
I guess I'm the only one that thinks rice comes from having a longitudinal 4-cylinder, not which muffler you use. Therefore, all mufflers will sound ricey on these cars. Sorry, I'm just being honest.

Its not a 5 inch outlet, its a 5 inch DIAMETER muffler (aka core) with 2.25 inch inlet and outlet
