Difficulty & Costliness of this Build

Dear all the experienced modders,

How difficult and expensive would this build be?

Does this build have a body kit on which makes the lower half of the vehicle wider?

Would this type of aesthetic mods have any effect on the warrenty in a negative way?

For the really experienced modders, what kind of upgrades did this car have to go through to end up looking like this?

To get your car looking like that would take many thousands of dollars (that's Nick's car), most of which you can probably install yourself with some help or research.

Aesthetic mods such as the bodykit and headlights should not void your warranty, however obviously changing the wheels, suspension and exhaust will void the warranty on those parts. Best would be to talk to your dealership. Who cares about warranty though! #yolo

I don't know the extent of Nick's mods, but I would probably start with those LED head lights (around $300), they're relatively cheap and make a lot of difference to the look of the car. From there, there are various bodykits and lips that can run you from between $150 to over $1,000. If you want to lower you car a little, lowering springs will set you back a couple of hundred, if you want to lower it a lot, coilovers are the way to go, they start from around $800. Once it's lowered, you'd be wanting to get wider or bigger wheels, which can set you back from a few hundred to a few thousand, depending on what brand you get.

That would get you the basic look, there are countless other mods such as exhaust, strut bars, spoilers, LED tail lights, badges, grilles and big buck items like turbokits.

It does get quite expensive quite quickly, and one mod usually always leads to another.

Good luck!

To get that look would cost you around 2k-4.5k. You'd need a front lip and side skirts. But if you wanted to drastically change the look you could get a body kit but it's not needed in my opinion. The look of the koup is sexy as it is. You'd want coilovers for that kind of stance but it's possible with just springs, which are much cheaper. I'd still suggest coilovers. Wider rims and slimmer tires. Roll the fenders for a wider and tucked look when lowered. Headlights are black CCFL halo headlights.

Suspension $200-$1200
Rims/Tires $800-$2000
Skirts/Lip $500-$800 (roughly)
Headlights $300-$500 (depending on seller)
Roadruns V2 grill $180-$220

As far as warrenty goes it breaks down like this. TECHNICALLY altering your car in anyway that's not an OEM option CAN void the warrenty. It all depends on the man behind the desk at the time. Most of the time you'll be fine with small things but if you get springs and your shocks go out in your car, they/ll say springs caused it and void the warranty. If you installed some aftermarket badges and your engine blows due to a defect or something, you're probably ok, lol.

I stopped worrying about warranty when I started tinkering under the hood. Needless to say I didn't renew my warranty after I turbo'd my car. :p

You guys are both awesome!

I am looking to purchase a brand new 2013 Koup. Already spotted one about 200 miles away and i plan to drive down there soon.

But the koup i found is silver. I am really hooked on the look of this blue koup and i would really like to pull it off! Unfortunately, there are no brand new blue koups for sale that i see.

So i came up with an idea.

I was informed that the paint job on koup is very thin and to protect it from getting damaged, many people are getting a 3m clear bra. Some are only getting it on the front areas (hood, fenders, bumper) while others spend more to get more areas covered.

I was going to get this protection anyways but,

While browsing through Fuels mod thread, i noticed he changed the color of his koup a several times. I think his koups original color is silver(correct me if im wrong).

I am not 100% sure on this but to change the color of his koup Fuel did not newly paint but used vinyl wraps?

So my question is this: would vinyl wrapping my car also protect it from chips, scratches, fades, wearing out, etc? Does vinyl wrap serve the same purpose in terms of paint protection compared to the 3m clear bar?

If so, i can vinyl wrap my car blue and that would be like killing two birds with one stone.

Please confirm this :)

The koup you like is @rowley27 and he could help you with the bits your trying to locate.
Thanks hooligan! I appreciate all the helpful contributions youre making in my threads!

Yessir. I've wrapped my car a few times
I am a fan of what you've done with the koup! I was highly motivated while looking through your mod thread.

I have a few questions I would like to ask.

Roughly how much would it cost to wrap my whole car in a different color?
Does vinyl wrap come with lifetime warrenty?

Feel free to pass on the last question if you think i am getting too personal:

I heard you're selling/sold your koup. Why and what is your new ride?

PS- i just noticed the blue koup and Fuel's koup led headlights are very similar if not the same. Is this one of the more popular led headlights for koup? For $300-$500 that seems like a very worthy upgrade!

Those are the same headlights. They come in black and chrome housings. Like Hooligan said it's basically the same thing. So that's what you're looking for and if you want to change your color, two birds with one stone.

Okay sounds good!

Gonna wait to hear from Fuel the pricing for full body wrap. During winter break i might actually head home for the break. Im in kc right now for school and home is ga so if i can i want to try and stop by Fuel's place and get my vinyl wrap done by him since he is a reputable person on here and importantly he knows how to make koups look good!

Thanks for taking the time to answer my amateurish questions.

If I may bother you a little while longer, how would you compare the colored vinyl finish to a new vehicle's standard paint finish?

I am asking because you stated clear is vastly more expensive than colored. If vinyl has great finish and i want to wrap my car only for the benefits of paint protection and not change my original paint color, couldnt i just wrap my car in the same color as my car and i wouldnt have to pay as much as if i was wrapping in clear?
