Drivers seat rubbing on center console?

Hey all, just wondering if any of you have noticed that the drivers seat rubs against the center console...or if it's just my car? I've began to notice a squeaking/rubbing sound whenever I go over bumps or take a turn to the left and I've realized it's caused by my leather driver's seat rubbing up against the center console. (right where the flip up compartment is)

On closer inspection it seems to be resting against the center console, while the passenger side seat has about a 3/4" clearence from the center console. I'm wondering if I should take it to the dealership or if I should try and correct it myself. I'm thinking this issue will cause the leather to deteriorate over time where it's rubbing if I leave it like this.

Anyone else noticed this?

I have the EX with the cloth seats and it does the same thing..... I brought it to the dealer for a noise coming from the track/slider and they said they would fix the adjustment on the seat too....... Guess what....... Its not fixed!! Maybe its just the place I went too. Please let me know if you get it fixed, it drives me nuts!
i have this issue, i will ask my dealer if this can be adjusted this week
great, keep me updated! thanks!
Is it just when you're sitting in it? 'Cause I'm guessing if you're siting in the seat it would cause the seat to spread out a bit...and if there's no one in the passenger seat, I can see why there would be clearance over there. I've never really looked at mine.
My seat doesn't rub the console, but I get the same squeak when I'm resting my arm on the console and hit bumps and turn corners. I think the lid is what's doing it...
I do not have any issues with either of my front seats rubbing on the center console. Be warned, I had to order a new center console for my Koup because the rubber piece on the E-Brake fell off. The center console took 2 1/2 months to come in.

Nope. I can sit in the back seats to view the problem and it's quite noticable, even from back there. I'm going to look in to it further today.
Oh ok. Maybe like...someone constantly sitting in the seat made the cushions move? Idunno. Mine does it too...has much more clearance on the passenger side and none on the drivers side. My Spectra was the same way though.
The foam in the seats could have compressed over time or something I suppose but I feel like it's a big difference. It almost seems like the drivers seats could be moved to the left side by 1/2" or something. I may look at the mounting of the seats and see if that's adjustable at all.
my car has the same issue...it has since day 1. for the longest time no one else had the same problem, but it appears as though quite a few more have it now.

the dealer didn't help me at all with this issue, so i ended up putting 2 washers under the rear corner of the track near the console to lift the seat up just enough so that it won't make noise. keep us posted if your dealer has any solution for this stupid seat issue.

also, does anyone notice that your driver's seat creaks/squeaks but goes away for a short time after raising then lowering the seat?

Ya ive seemed to have that problem also with the driver seat cracking and also witht the seat rubbing up against the console.
So I had some free time today and decided to look at the problem myself. I loosened the 4, 14mm bolts holding the seat in place and was surprised to see that there was a little bit of lateral movement available, so I pushed the seat as far left as it could go and tightened the bolts back down. It helped a little but not totally, so I opened up the centre console and removed the flap at the very bottom of the compartment. There are 2 10mm bolts holding the console in place so I removed those and used a drill bit to make an oval shape out of the 2 mounting holes through the plastic to allow for some lateral movement of the console. Pushed the console towards the passenger seat by a little, tightened the bolts back down and presto! No more rubbing, and equal distance between the two seats now.

Pretty quick and easy fix if anyone is interested.

Sorry there are no pics but once you get in to it, it's pretty self explanatory.
