DROIDX mount mod

Hey guys, here's a mod I did for my DroidX phone mount. The phone itself is quite large and when it's in the car mount, it's that much bigger. It blocked out a little too much windshield for my liking, so using some lexan and heavy duty velcro, I came up with this. It's even more stabil and sturdy than I thought as well as it eliminated having to fish audio cable and power wires down the A pillar and behind dash. There is also still room for the other power source to be used in the car. The great thing is that the mount is easily removable.

Ive got my NexusOne mounted on top of the airvent.. sure my screen isnt as big but power was run from the cigarette lighter wires within the dash and audio is A2DP streamed :)

I liek your idea! just need to finish up the base and block out the wires :) (i.e. clean it up!!) -> sorry thats the wire neat freak in me!

Yeah, I'm a bit of a neat freak myself, mostly the issue is the power cord, it's way too long. I've been looking for a shorter one to switch it out. Aux cable is only about 6 inches so that's no prob. I'd like to fab a plate that will cover the base completely and then relocate the other 12V power supply to the side of the console. That's gonna take some planning though.
