Drop in MPG

I seem to have lost about 4mpg after my last set of upgrades. I did the GFB bov, Pierburg and changed my sparkplug gap to .028 from .031. The cold start rpm is a little higher than before and even though the car feels quicker it is actually slower by a tenth of second all around based on Dragy numbers. The drivability behavior between shifts improved but I prefer to get the MPG back. I am definitely changing the sparkplug gap back to stock today. I am also considering putting the stock bov and solenoid back on.

Poor gas mileage is a symptom of foot pressure too...:)

Have you recalibrated your foot recently...LOL!

I was thinking that, but I actually made a huge effort the last couple days to just see how good I could do for mpg just to make sure. Trying hard the best is only 30-31mpg now. If I am not trying the mpg is about 25mpg. Before I was able to get 34-36 being conscious of what I was doing.
Well, the engineers DO engineer them the way they do for specific reasons, man. I'd suggest just keeping it stock and enjoying it the way it was designed. BUT, I have no money to do mods on my car and even when I did, the most I ever did was open the exhaust and put a nice set of tires and wheels on whatever I was driving.

Maybe you have to break in the new mods for a couple thousand miles?
You are having too much fun beating the piss out of your car... it will take some time for your MPG to recover.. imagine it’s like a credit score, drops easy and takes forever to get back.
It could be the wider set of tires you have on now. I saw a drop on my Subaru mpg when I went from stock 245 to 255.

I dropped 3-7 mpg when I went from the stock 195 all seasons to the 225 performance tires on wider wheels on my FE

Didn't think of this. Be interesting to see what happens. I will find out tomorrow on my ride to work. Sparkplugs are back to stock gap and the oem BOV and solenoid are back in the car. If the factory PS4 is that much better at mpg vs the DWS06 I will be disappointed.

When I increased the tread width, this was on Michelin PSS to a wider set of PSS.
My forte wheel and tire combo is pig heavy. It does make a difference, I can’t get over 30mpg anymore. I went from 265/50/20 on my Jeep to 275/55/20 and lost 4mpg
You guys calculating MPG manually or relying on the car's puter? If your tire OD changed at all doesn't that trow off the way it figure the MPG too?

Also, yeah...having more fun with the mods will do it. Mine took a hit when I did an Evilla exhaust lol.
Looks like I got my mpg back on my backroads drive to work, 33mpg today and it is only 30 degrees. I was getting 34mpg everyday but the new Continental tires are almost an inch wider than the PS4. This is the most likely reason for the 1mpg difference I still have. Once it warms up I will see if I can get it up to 34-35mpg. And as a bonus my car is quicker than before.

Drive your car with tires aired up correctly And use the gas pedal like there is a egg under your foot and you don't want to break it Your mileage will increase
