I am sorry if this is in the wrong place or anything else you might want to complain about, but I need help ASAP.
I was in the middle of installing HIDs, car was off, went to test and absolutely not an ounce of power; no horn, no key light, nothing. Battery looks like it has voltage, tried jumping anyway, nothing. The battery 1 & 2 fuses are good, iunno what other fuses there would be. I did not cross any wires (oh i am using the relay harness), I did not disconnect the battery. Everything is even back to normal with no luck.
I just remembered i think i had a similar symptom in a different car and it was fixed by resetting the computer by turning the key into different positions. Does anyone know how to do this, i cant find anything on that either.

I hate to play devil's advocate here, and I know this is gonna piss off a lot of people but... Why the hell are you modifying your electrical system if you have no basic knowledge of how these systems work or interact with each other? I have been an installer for more years than I care to remember and I am stunned by the number of vehicle owners who try to do it themselves and wind up causing significant and potentially costly damage. Just my view.

i checked the ecm fuses so they were pulled.
I do not know what the BCM is but apparently D/C the battery clears at least some faults.

I pulled the battery and reset the ECM. The Dash lights come on now but when i goto start the car even with a car jumping it, it just dies out completely.

semi conclusion

Wound up calling for KIA to pick it up (free) and went to class. When looking at the battery they found an aftermarket negative terminal clamp.
They tested the battery; good.
They tested a stock cable; good.
They retried the aftermarket; GOOD?
I do not even know what the extra cable is going to, the VIPER Alarm? Wouldnt make much sense to have connections outside the cab but ima bring it by the installer tomorrow. Also gonna hop into another thread to talk about the HIDs some more before trying it again.
Thanks peeps.
