No, I was never better than you GT folks with turbos to begin with lol, and I really don’t want to get rid of it. But having 3 cars when you’re 20 gets really expensive, and this being the one that’s actually worth something (and the one I have the least sentimental attachment to), it’s first on the list of potential cars to go. If it turns out to also not be worth a whole lot (did the theft thing kill the resale value?), then I’ll keep it too and just start working my ass off more than I already am

When I was 20 in 1999 (now I feel old) I had a lot of cars too, (72 Chevy 4x4, 90 5.0 mustang, 64 falcon v8 4speed and a 1987 crx) i invested every dime and free moment I had into them, the truck was a concourse truck and the mustang could show up to any show and shine and keep up with the Jones’s. What’s my point? I have nothing to show for it now. I sold them off through my 20s and never recovered anything close to what I have invested. I wish I kept them, but I also wish I kept all the money I wasted too. All hindsight. Whatever you are into now at 20 I guarantee you won’t be into in your 40s so fuck it... do what’s responsible if you actually have self control, they are just cars, if you want to keep your volvos and rover then do it. If someone buys your Kia make sure you send them this way.

Yeah it's a difficult decision. The Forte is the best car I have - it's new, it's reliable, it's good on gas, and it's fun. It's also worth ~$20k if AutoTrader comps are anything to go on, and that's a lot of money. My Volvos aren't worth much (the V70 I bought for $800 and is still a project, and the V50 needs some work for me to be comfortable selling it at a price that makes sense), so selling either doesn't made sense, at least for now, and I've grown quite fond of the old-school feel of the V70. The Rover is more of a sentimental thing - it's fully camper converted, which I did over the course of 8 months or so about 2.5 years ago with my dad as a father-son project, so I don't want to get rid of it for that reason. It also wouldn't make financial sense in its current state, since it's currently parked due to it needing a new transmission and some other odds and ends. That leaves the Kia, and with the money I can get selling it, I can fix the one Volvo, sell it too, and use all that money to fix the Rover and make the V70 perfect.

Yes, if I sell the Kia I will certainly send the new owner over here. It's only listed here for now, in part because I'm hoping it goes to an enthusiast that will enjoy it as much as did and contribute to the community

There are a lot of people out there that will never consider owning a turbo car and this appears to be the only way to get a manual forte with an N/A motor.

Yeah they're pretty hard to find. My search turned up under 12 manual FEs in the entire US from 2021, and under 40 for all 3 model years. I think this car was supposed to be the cheap base car that gets you in the door with a low advertised starting price and they weren't actually supposed to really make them. However in doing so they unintentionally created one of the sweetest drivetrain combinations of any modern car I've driven. Revs super fast, easy rev match, zero rev hang, and short gearing.

Would be sad to see it go! I’m sorta in a similar situation, 21 and got two cars. My forte is my daily, and the Focus is my project car. If I needed a large some of money, I would sell my Forte too, because my focus isn’t worth much. However, my $.02 is keep the Forte if you can, and get rid of/store one of your projects for the time being. I think you would miss not having a nice and reliable daily (I would because I have a long highway commute). Also think about how much time/money you are putting into the projects and if they are really worth it. I have a budget on what I can spend per month on mine. Do what is best for you though, everyone’s situation is different, just wanted to shed some light on mine!
