Hey Forte Tribe,

Have you ever wanted your fogs on as DRLs? Here is the trick to make it work. I apologize for the blurry relay photo but it's good enough to make the connection.

As a note, the fogs will come on once the fuel pump is on and running. With this mod, the Fog Lamps are on independent of the parking lamps and head lamps.

I personally like the look with the parking lamps but that is my choice. As a reminder, they are on independently and you must turn on the parking lamps to get the below look. Also, the Fog lamp indicator will not come on until the head lamps are on. The switch in the car will not control the fogs any longer with this mod.

Enjoy!

Wiring Mod:

The results (I turned on the parking lamps for effects (works without them)

Always here to help the tribe...make em look good, folks!

I have not tried this but in theory they will stay on with your bright lamps as they are independent of headlamp and foglamp control modules. It's using the fuel pump relay trigger to enable the fog lamp relay. Last time I checked the fuel pump relay is on while the car is running so this should work.

Note: The car must be running for the fogs to be on (since it is tied to the fuel pump relay). The fogs go off when you turn the car off automatically.

I really like how simple it is :)

I was trying to find a way to keep the fog On when I was using the high beams. I wanted to bypass the wires at the control module behind center console. Why complicate matters, when they are simple.:)

You can thank the US gov't for teaching me electronics on this one. Always simplify when possible.

Nice touch. I would do this but I don't like not having the option to turn the DRL's off without turning the car off.

I hear ya... Most cars don't have an option of shutting off DRL's. I can think of atleast 10 cars Chevy, VW, etc that don't give you a switch to disable.

I love the look enough to run them. I'm going LED though to minimize the power draw... should look good. ;-)

is this work with the canadien model ? I have a relay plugged in the fogs slot even for the fuel pump relay. did you removed these to install the wire ? with this mod what are you doing with the on/off fonction when the headlight are open ?

here in canada we have drl can I plug the wire to the drl fuse ? I don't like the idea of using the fuel pump relay for the fogs lol

hey guys, pulling the noob card here, but can someone just give me like one or two sentences on how to actually go about doing this, the pics are really helpful but i just cant seem to understand how to connect the two relays.

what i wanna know basically is how to connect the two(i see a wire but what kind and where to get it)

to remove the Daytime Running Lights, do i just remove the relay?

and is this mod easily reversable?

sorry to ask these horribly noob questions but this would be my first time tampering with elctronics and wanna get it right :)

thanks,
K.O.

All you are doing is jumpering the trigger (switched Ground) to the fuel pump relay. So, when the fuel pump relay comes on the Fogs will come on. When fuel pump is shut off the fogs will go off.

All you need is a small 16-20ga wire to jumper the pins in the pictures, reinstall the relays, start the car and the fogs will be on.... I will try to do a better write up. PM me if you need more help...
