hmmmmmm
idk it probably really is a genuine kia product, it looks the same as my shifter right now though
shifts are pretty damn short already, not like an 07 corolla or a 1st gen rx-7. I drove both recently and the shifts are waaaaay further apart, especially when I'm used to how tight the shifting is in this car

Hmmm interesting anyone want to be a guinea pig :) I really want a shorter throw. I drove my buddy's Mazda 6 the other day the throw is so short i love it.

The photo says its just for representation so when they get an actual picture I might bite.

I believe Kia in the US is offering a short shifter already for the Forte's. They're made by B&M.

I emailed the seller yesterday to see if they had anymore information on it. I had asked him, how much shorter it was, if it came with new bushings, if they were aluminum or plastic.

I got a reply from him today.

"I am not sure how much shorter it is, it comes with the pieces in the picture! The main part is the redesigned aluminum shifter ball, and the new stalk piece"

Seems that he doesnt know very much. I am not going to be a guinea pig on this one. I have been looking for a short shifter, but I cant spend 200 bucks on something I cant find any information on.

Well, it is definitely a valid part#, but I seem to be having difficulty getting information. I talked to one person that said it was sitting on a legal size envelope and was the exact lenght of it. That doesn't sound very short to me. Doesn't come with any bushings. Just a Rod, Knob, and grease. Does anyone know what the factory replacement part # is? This isn't listed in the brochure with the other accessory parts.

The ebay link says short throw shift and the second link says sporty shift(not a short throw nor short shift) no explanation about it.

I kinda doubt this is a dealer item, im pretty sure every dealer will be all over this item trying to sell it to everyone.

Will the shifter be different from the 5 spd than the 6 spd? i wouldnt think so but maybe im wrong. the only thing that will be different will the shifter cable, again maybe im wrong.

Ok i have a confirmation.

I just called B&M and they just told me, they are waiting on KIA approval to start working on the OEM short throw shift, meaning it will only be available thru the dealer, not an aftermarket part. There is no deadline when they are getting a response from KIA so prolly its gonna take couple months until they do something.

Thats the lastest news, so i really dont know what those 2 links are selling....snniifff snnifff can you smell it? snniifff ssnnnifff i smell BS
