Forte SX moving from 17 to 16 wheels

Hello everyone,
Im pretty excited in getting my new forte SX and im wondering if its a better move to go down to the 16's or even the 15's. Just because Im looking at some winter tires (maybe for next year) and theyre pretty expensive for the 17's and the prices drop considerably for 16's and the 15's (about $100 CDN per tire difference from 17's to 15's; just looking at costco)

What are the benefits in these large wheels and tires? Is it worth the size difference? Is bigger better or the smaller ones better? Can I swap the 17's for 15/16's in the winter (obviously new wheels and tires)? Will it interfere with the brakes or the body?

I drive 70% city and 30% highway in Ontario (GTA=Go Leafs!). Even with my current car, Im pretty aggressive and its a midsize with 16's.

Thanks in advance!

I bought these ones at CT and they fit like a charm.

I put Michelin X-Ice X2 on the original 17" Koup SX wheels (have 18inchers for summer); as expected, great traction on ice, more than ok in snow (live in Montréal so roads are wet/icy pavement 95% of the time...) but very lousy handling on wet/dry pavement. Soft sidewall has lots of flex so poor turn-in with a feeling of 'disconnect' between the front and rear at much lower speeds than with stock rubber.

The soft sidewall is a characteristic Michelin trait that I expected when I made the choice (for max ice traction) but I didn't think it would be so bad:(.

Thank god spring is here!

im looking to get winter rims and tires for my koup ex someone on cl is selling them will the 15'' wheels and tires from the sedan ex fit on my koup can anyone help me out

What's this Snow you speak of?
lol for next year the guy only wants 200 for the set of 15'' off a ex sedan
What's this Snow you speak of?
If you want some I still have a 5 foot drift in my back yard, you are welcome to pick it up....:p
so the winter tire size would be 205/55/r16, is that correct??
sorry forgot to say i have an sx but want to go smaller for the winter???
Hi all,
I just had my winter rims/tires intsalled for the first time in my Forte SX. I also went with the 16' but just after parking in the office garage that I realized that some parts (I don't know the name) are exposed throught the center whole in the stell rims. Shourl I have to add any cap to cover that up from the snow and salt? I might post a picture latter to show what I am talking about.
