Hawk looked into it. They have nothing for us at this time. They did not realize that was the pad being used in the 2019-2021 Veloster turbo models, 2018-2020 Elantra GT turbo models and 2020-2023 Forte GT turbo.

And veloster N uses its own pad that will not interchange.

Powerstop is the only manufacturer that has front and rear pads at the moment. They list the same part number for the Veloster Turbo with our Forte GT. The Elantra GT and Sport lists different part numbers. I'm surprised nobody else have front pads for the Veloster other than the N.

If you lookup Elantra GT1.6 they list the same part numbers as the Forte and Veloster as well.

The Brembo high Carbon rotors showed up today. Hopefully the high carbon rotors with stock pads will be enough to prevent future warping for daily use.

I honestly think you will be fine.. I’m running the brembo high carbon discs too and not one issue yet. I get them hot enough that they make creaking and popping sounds while cooling off.. still smooth as new

Thats what I want to hear. I can't imagine trying to do a track day with the stock brakes, autocross would work but I can't see the stock brakes lasting a couple hot laps on a track. I would say a setup like you have with larger rotors would definitely be needed for that kind of abuse.

8000 on mine as well, they were fine until I hooked up the Dragy my kids got me for xmas. a couple 1/4mile runs at 95mph down to 30mph is not good, I know that was what overheated them. I did not notice too much issue with the 1/8mile runs (78mph) down to 30mph however.

Yeah I feel the same; just hammering hard from high speed. But definitely disappointed after the Abarth; so light I never had any issues with the brakes lmao.

Since you have your oem front brakes off can you verify this is the correct front pad design? I am talking to Hawk technical support trying to see if they have an application that fits our cars that is not listed.

I replaced both the rotors and the pads on my 21 GT for PowerStop. However, the part number for the font pads was incorrect everywhere I looked for them. Even on PowerStop's own page. The correct part for the front was: Front Pads: SKU# 58101 M7A10 – Z23-1855

Regarding your research, they seem to be similar, although not identical, compared with the original pads I took out of my car.

Hope these pictures are of help, and if you find that Hawk has a product for our cars, let me know, I have used Haws for a couple of decades, and I was always delighted with their performance.

Cheers.

For the near future Hawk has nothing to offer. He forwarded our request to the next level but it does not mean they will make them. Just have to check Hawk's site again in a year I guess. I wonder if the stock 2019-2021 Veloster turbo pads are a different compound that might fare better than the ones we have?

Thanks. Looking forward to seeing if they have something for our cars in the near future. :(

Then, they fit the GT? But these are OEM. So, does that means the Hyundai OEM is better than the Kia"s?

One of the few things I was disappointed about the GT was the bakes. The PowerStop replacement didn't make a significant difference. They're better, but not what I want. Additionally, I have posted several times a "vibration" (not exactly, but similar) when stopping at a higher speed. Guess what? After replacing the rotors and pads, the same feeling is there, making me believe that the culprit may be in the calipers and only on MY car. I get used to the "byte" the Hawks have. I like rock solid feeling when trying to stop. Nothing like it in the GT. I can't deny that once the brakes are warmer, they work better and stop when one pushes hard. I went to the shop and asked to bleed the brakes, but it didn't change anything.

I appreciate your insight. Thanks.

The Veloster pads seem to be a different compound, I might have my Hyundai store send a set over for me to look at. If we browse around the Veloster forums maybe we can find out if they have the same issues we have or not. The car these are in is the 2019-2021 Veloster Turbo models, not the Veloster N.
