FYI.
I have downloaded the first page of the latest TSB's from The Kia Tech Site and uploaded them to a folder on the web. Below you will find links to the first page of the pdf file that the Kia Technician sees. Please make note of the specific application for some of these TSBs, some are very specific to engine and/or transmission.

One interesting note has to do with the CVVT Oil Control Valve. In the bulletin, it is stated that non-OEM oil filter could affect oil flow rates and adversely affect the CVVT system.

Thanks BigE , I just gave you props on the other forum Exclamation FYI. Forte TSBs (Technical Service Bulletins)
hope you don't mine , I'll make sure all the credits go to you.
some valuable information there , I'll print the ones related to my problems so I can show my dealer at my first oil change
thanks Bro
that thing about the oil filter is odd, never heard anything like that b4
I'm having difficulty getting a smooth shift from my 2010EX. I'm not real sure there isn't a mechanical problem or just human error. Dealer says car has not learned my driving habits and wait until after first oil chance at 8000km. I'm also experiencing backfiring when shifting from 2nd to 3rd gear. Not every shift results in a backfire. Anyone else having the same problem?

Engine SHOULD NOT backfire...... It mean a rich mixture and it's not normal. My 98 Talon do this because my BOV vent to atmosphere....
It is something esle in your case but still NOT normal!
/\/\/\ yes, backfiring is BAD... go back to that dealer and call Kia if he tries to tell you that the way your driving is causing it, what an idiot if he actually thinks that, but more likely he's trying to pawn you off.
There are a few manufacturers stating that non-OEM filters will void warranty if there is an engine failure. Toyota pops into mind as being one them. I've seen a few brochures sent out to customers stating this. Kind of a scare tactic to get people back to the dealer for service IMO.

This is BS by car mfgrs, IMO. In Kia/Hyundai's case with the TSB, they say that non OE oil filters can have different flow rates and affect the 'oil control valve' operation. Yeh, right...what OE about filters that become less efficient between oil changes due to dirt, particles, etc? Wouldn't that affect flow rates? Especially at their recommended 7500 oil change intervals.
