Glass Care

Do any of you treat your glass (windshield, side window, etc.) with anything? A good friend of mine (a car buff) told me to wipe my windows every day with water (and a very damp soft rag) and newspaper because the ink in the paper will keep away the water spots but I have to do it everyday. But I'm quite sure in this day and age there's something out there that is more friendly to my sore arms, lol. :D
I'm open to any tricks of the trades here and thank you. :D
If I have posted this in the wrong place you have my deepest apologies. Best Regards

I treat my windows with aquapeel. Work greath for medium to heavy rain, not much difference in light rain.

+1 It's a little miracle :)
I just use rain-x on the exteriors and auto glass cleaner(forgot the brand but a cheapie) for the interiors. I find that as long as you use a good microfiber cloth to buff as the last step then it comes out crystal clear every time.

When the water stops beading add more rain-x :)
Hmm, my dad swears by his newspaper I but thought the main reason was because it won't leave little bits of fiber behind like paper towels do.

So even if you treat the outside definitely use newspaper when you clean the inside.
yes newspaper+1 works great no streaks its kind of amazing you just crumble it into a big ball.. crazy I know but try it.
Thank you for your input folks, I know it will come in handy. :D
Rain-X on the outside. I use the original (?) Rain-X and it's amazing, you barely even need wipers. I'd use gloves when applying though... after washing 3 (different) cars 3 days in a row my fingers were being destroyed by the chemicals.

when i used to drive a cab-
washing the windows w/the balled up newspaper before every shift was mandatory-
and yup- it does work good.
i was kinda worried that when the news paper companies started switching over to "bio" based inks and messing with their paper fiber compositions that the trick wouldnt work any more-
but so far- it still seems to work
I used to work at an auction car detailing place and we also always used newspapers to clean windows. Worked wonders on the dirtiest company vehicles. They also used a prduct to make the dash and any plastic shine but I can't remember the name. It was a purple liquid that you would spray on and wipe off, smells like really sweet grape... does anybody know the name.
