Wondering if anyone has tried to remove the "Forte" and "Koup" emblems on the back of the car yet? Are there holes? Are they glued? How does the paint appear under??

Has anyone replaced the "KIA"symbols on the wheels or on the front and the back of the car?

Thanks!!!

I had removed the Rio5 on my '07 and it was glued on , just go easy and slow and you should be find with the paint underneath , also the 2 Kia logo were glued on , the frt one on the grille was the worst , again you have to go easy and no harsh chemicals
hope this help

Don't use any chemicals like goo gone, after you clean up if you leave any on your paint it can't be good for it. just a heat gun, or even a hair dryer, over the emblem, then run some fishing line behind it to pry it off. take it easy if you ever think you might want to put them back, they are plastic and will break. then the glue should just gum up if you rub it and then windex is what I used to remove the residue, worked like a charm. the front and rear have clips, and i haven't personally taken mine off yet, just FORTE so far, it had to go. here is a picture of what to expect on the front and rear:

If you do decide to remove them use the advice above (heat gun, fishing wire for large emblems). Once you get them off I find that using regular car wax helps get rid of the glue and leaves the paint nice and clean.

Thought I'd post a couple pics of my first changes, wanted to do a work in progress type thing. Just got done rebaging the car:

BTW, I got the emblems from autoria.co.kr (using email [email protected] and paypal if you are interested) Use translate.google.com and it's easy enough to look around the site, but it might be hard to set up an account and order on there, plus through paypal you don't have to pay any exchange rates. I placed the order last tuesday and they arrived by friday, FROM S. KOREA!!! Couldn't believe it. If you are looking for any emblem replacements, go no further(other neat stuff too). I will absolutely do business with them again, best prices too by far and great quality, they are high polished chrome on gloss black. even with international shipping, the same was $75 more from koreanautoimports.com, twice as much.

PS. what do you guys think, keep KOUP on there or not? and what about the vinyl on the trunk?

edit: I need a new camera....

Looks great vizunary! I definitely need to get some of those headed my way.

Edit: Did the rear emblem have any screws holding it on? Or just adhesive?

thanks dvipercop! the rear emblem didn't have screws, just 2 guiding rods, to assure alignment. i do recommend having a 2nd set of hands though, as you start to pull it up, someone to poke through the glue. helps keep it intact, i just used my library card, no chance of scratching. now, on the front, i pulled the 4 screw things and used wire cutters on the clips, but it does no damage to the emblem, i couldn't see any other way of releasing them. i really do recommend autoria.co.kr too, i couldn't be more pleased. you can barely get mail from across town as fast as they shipped.

edit: also the front and rear fit perfectly on the Koup, since they're both 128X65mm, whereas the sdn's rear is 110X56mm.

Nice job vizunary! You need to make a new post to show this -- your opost here is part of "emblem removal".

On a side note: The last time I displayed my Koup at a cruise-in I got hounded by people sayin it looked like a transformer and asked what it transformed into...got tired of it quick...if I were to put that emblem on I know that BS would never stop...

Thanks everyone for the advice. My fiance took off the Forte and Koup emblems off today. We did use goo gone. I washed the car right after. The paint has a few minor scratches and is a bit dull, but a little wax will clean that right up. Just be careful and take your time. They seemed to come off quite easy. I LOVE the way it looks.

I will always shop around, but for the emblems I couldn't find anything better. though, i do recommend going thru email and not their ebay listings. the fact that i received my stuff in 3 days is VERY impressive to me as well. service is just as important as price to me. where is that spoiler you have listed from? I'm getting the lighted one for $131 from carid.com, though they discounted it for me when i called.

All of the items quoted on the first line are from autoria.co.kr with the equivalent shown on the second line.

Yes, I agree service is also very important, I sure it was one of the main reasons you posted the information in the first place. I think this fact escapes a lot of businesses nowadays.

heh, no kidding, especially internet companies. honestly it was a big reason i didn't go with koreanautoimports.com, when i called them they felt very "iffy" like they weren't sure about their products and availability. though to be fair i called during the sema week and they only had a skeleton crew manning the office, so i'm not sure.

edit: also, my "go no further" bit was more of a joke than anything. you know like a carny barker :)
