Iv noticed the original link posted in this form says that they require h7 bulbs for low and h1 for high beams but this seller offers the with HIDs but they are expensive

Well I can tell you that the wiring on these are interesting.

First the LEDs do not come on until the parking lights are on, which to me defeats the purpose of LEDs.

I have so far been able to wire them in such a way that just the halo is on as the car is running and then the LEDs come on with the headlights, but not my ideal situation, I want the LEDs on during the day time....

I figure I can know more by heating these up and opening them, but that is the last thing I want to do.

If your going to spend the $500 on these headlights you really should buy the $40 switchbacks. they really complete the look IMO

OK well got it all done, I accidently wired the inner lights to 30 on the relay instead of 87a which was why it was giving me fits.

Anyway, I've got it now set up with the LEDs as DRL's and they turn off with the turn signals and then everything else comes on as normal.

Here is the youtube clip, sorry about the sound, I'm don't have time to edit it.

Not sure if he did it for this reason, but I'm pretty sure it's for legality issues. They're supposed to do that for legal purposes. If you look at any new Audi or the like with LED DRL's, you'll notice they do the same thing.

* BTW, looking good!

Little of both, for legal reasons, no light can be within 3" of your turn-signal or must be disabled for the signal to be visible by law... and second because I wanted to see if I could do it and I tend to like the look of it.

Running the LEDs as DRLs is actually VERY easy, you just need to cut the brown wire inside the high beams, you need to know which direction the current is coming from (I don't remember off hand) but power up the lights, unclip the brown/black wires inside the high beam, see where the power is coming from and then you just need to cut power onwards from there and send power to them directly through a fused power source that only comes on when the car is on.

Very nicely done... I wish the LED's were brighter to be more functional as DRL. How'd you turn them off with the turn signals? Cause you can't just negatively relay them or they'd come on in between the flashes. Very interested.

Actually they are pretty damn bright during the daytime.

I used a 5 pin relay, had the wire the T/S through a capacitor to keep power through the entire turn signal (I believe I used a 4800 and 2400 soldered together) using resistors/diode additionally ran that to 87a, fused power to 30, 86 t/s and 85 negative

Durr, should have figured it was a capacitor, was somehow thinking you got into a turn signal wire from the BCM. The LED's are very bright for eBay headlights, I'll give them that... but I'm still not amazed by them. Lots of compliments though.
