Hello all, I just thought that I would introduce myself. I am currently from Boise ID, and am in the USAF. I purchased my Kia a year ago with no intentions on doing any type of modifications. I JUST past 15xxx MI a few days ago. It's Titanium* ( Don't know if I spelled that right )

Its been a year and i'm starting to itch LOL. I currently own a 2010 Kia Forte Koup EX Auto ( The wife needs to drive it too ) and a 1998 Honda Civic EX 5SP with a B18c5. The honda will be sold here in a few days though, ( going overseas and can only bring one car ) As far as the Kia goes I love it. It gets great gas mileage and turns head wherever I go, and the funny part is it's BONE STOCK. The only thing I did was paint the wheels flat black. LOL.

My plans for the car are mostly cosmetics, as for I mainly bought it for the warranty.

Mods for far that I have awaiting install are

-DDM Tuning 5k HID
-Zelious license plate locator
-17 Konig wheels powdercoated a special color (I'm going to keep you guys on edge until I post some photos :p
-Eibach Pro Kit.
-K Badges all around.

For the most part Thats all I want to do, maybe add a wing but nothing more. I'm waiting for the springs to come in from Amazon. Blahhh. When those come in I'm going to put EVERYTHING on.

Comments are welcome!
I know lots about Honda's but nothing about Kia's so I hope I can learn a lot.

welcome epiic! you came to the right forums. i get looks all the time from people on the roads, despite them driving more expensive cars. my dad was in the air force.

anyways, enjoy your koup!
Thanks for the kind words! I really do enjoy driving the Kia.
Funny story about other people driving more expensive cars, I had a gentleman come up to me when I was pumping gas and asked me what specific trim that was, I said it was a Forte. He said it had very nice "curves" and that it looked good. After a few minutes of talking, He walked away and got into an Audi S4. LOL

Welcome Epic. Glad to hear that you're enjoying your Koup. Just separated from the Air Force last year after 6 years. Where you going overseas? I was in Germany for 3 years and enjoyed it quite a bit. Anyway, so when are the pics coming? :) Oh, and I've also had people get out of a Mercedes to look at my car. Even seen a guy take pictures. Thought it was a bit weird, but hey, these are nice looking cars. :)
Come on, air force guy and no plans for a spoiler? What are you in the RAF? Haha I'm teasin man, glad to have more military personnel on this site.
LOL, There is one spoiler that I did notice, but it's 300 BUCKS! I'm also full Active Duty.
Are you Military?

If you don't mind me asking why did yuo separate? I'm going to Guam and am going to be there for 4 years. I really do like the Kia, just wish it was munual. As for the pictures I'm waiting on shop to finish up with the powdercoating. I bought some wheels that I liked but they didn't make them in the color I wanted. So I ordered the wheels and had them ship them directly to a local powdercoating shop here. They are going to call me when they are done. She shop told me around next Thursday ( the 28th ) they should be ready for tires to be mounted and installed. Tuesday is when i'm supposed to get the Eibach Pro Kit I ordered off Amazon. So everything should be installed and rollin' By the end on next week. I can't wait!

I've had many people comment on the Kia. Makes you feel good. :D

Gonna keep us in suspense huh? :) Never thought about making it a career. Well, at least especially not after getting put into a careerfield that I didn't want. ;) Enjoy Guam man, don't get island fever. I'm from an island too, but not that small. Still think I would've loved being there. I had been in Texas, Germany, and North Dakota. Enjoy your assignment man. :)
You'll see some photos next week ;) I seriously can't wait. The color scheme is very.. Different.

I don't like my field either, when the time comes I'm deff going to cross-train. I think Guam won't be bad at all. I'm just worried about the Kia rusting on me  I've been to Texas, Idaho and now I'm off to Guam.

Yeah I wanted to cross-train as well, but because of dumb decisions I ruined that chance for myself. I wanted to get into Intel so it would've been difficult as it is. Still a pretty great experience (except Minot, ND). It was great to serve my time though. Now, enjoying FL. :)
Why not Minot? :D

Speaking of FL I'm going to be there in about 2 weeks. gettin' my tan on the whole month of May

Long leave well deserved LOL.

LOL Believe me, there are plenty of reasons why not.... Yeah, what part? Enjoy it man. Although, you will be on a tropical island.... ;)
I'll be in Orlando/ Winter Park. I hope I don't get island fever. I'll be there for an extended tour

That's cool. I'm actually close by. I live a few minutes north of Orlando. Enjoy FL and as far as Guam goes, just find a hobby. ;) Car seems like a good one. It'll cost you some money though. Getting COLA over there?
Yeah, COLA over there is about an extra 410 a month. If I do pick up a hobby, it will be something else. What I have done to the Kia so far will prolly be the most I'll do. I want to get back into the Honda game. I miss my Civic already and it's only been gone a few days. When I get over to Guam I'm hoping to find a shell and start from the ground up. I really want to get a Rex and drop a K20, or an EG with another B18c5. I put about 5K into my Civic and only have it for about 4 months. It was fun.

Not a bad extra few bucks. :) 5 grand and only for 4 months?! Man, must be nice... ;) Are you single or does the significant other not mind the expensive hobby? Either way man, stay busy, have fun, and enjoy the island. :)
She doesn't mind the hobby. She actually enjoys fixing cars with me ( more like watching ) After I was done with my civic, she didn't want to drive the Kia anymore, she pretty much stole my civic from me. LOL

Are you Military?
Haha yup, United States Army. I actually bought the Sequence spoiler for my Koup but I haven't installed it yet. It came unpainted so I went to Maaco to get it painted which cost around $100. Lol but I'm just teasing man, I have the spoiler and I don't even know if I really want to install it or not.

I'm going to assume you're talking about the Sequence spoiler when you stated the $300 price. Here's their website

::: Welcome to SEQUENCE :::

It's all in Korean but I saw them advertise in English on a Gencoupe website so they should be able to negotiate a better price than what's listed on other sites. I bought my spoiler from an Ebay dealer, but I also bought a grille and eyelids as a big package. I talked the guy down a lot so I ended up saving a good amount of money overall.
Yes, that very first Spoiler is the one I want. If it weren't so expensive that would be on my list.

Only 3 more days until I get wheels in. I seriously can't wait. Tuesday I get the Eibach springs in. Then Thursday My wheels get in too. Freshly powdercoated. Oh yeahh!
Wow, this forum is very slow.

I'm getting my springs in today, and around noon I'm going to put them on. I'll take some before and after pictures for you guys :)

Then Thursday I get my wheels in. I also got some mud-flaps too. DDM tuning 3K bulbs should be in as well. I currently have the 5K, but wanted a different look, so I ordered 3K bulbs. I think it's going to look nice. The only thing I am worried about though are my wheels being too small. I plan on going with a 215-50-17 Federal tire, so the car's quarter panel and fenders will be flush with the tires.

Wish me luck!
