Hey everyone. I've been browsing around here looking, and I've been interested in a Forte Koup for a while now. I haven't gone and test drove one yet, because I know once I do, I'm sure I'll buy it on the spot. But I want to get some of your input first.

I'd be getting a 2010 Forte Koup SX 6speed of course. I read a review online about the headroom being limited. I was wondering if anyone on this site has a Forte Koup with a Sunroof, and they said if you were over 6 feet tall to not get the sunroof. Well that poses a problem because I'm 6'5 and I want a sunroof lol. I was wondering if anyone on here has bought one that is as tall as me(or close) and if they have any issues with this?

I plan on getting the Intake and Exhaust Turbo-Kits has if/when I do get the car cause I love the way it sounds with those 2. I've worked on many cars before, so I know how to do all the work with them. I enjoy working on cars actually. It's a hobby for me.

Also, are there any other issues that owners have noticed with the car? I'm in IT so I deal with new stuff all the time and I know how messed up it can be on the 1st release so that's why I'm asking. I know of the throttle body mod people do, and I plan on doing that as well.

So that's all really. Just interested in what other people have to say about the car. It looks great, and I am definitely interested in getting one. Thanks for all your help!
Welcome first of all.

For the Koup + Sunroof, Im close to 6, and I just have to adjust 2 clicks down on the side, and I have sufficient headroom. Lets just wait for taller people to verify that.

Exhaust is a must for any performance driven enthusiast. Both Turbokits and Solo brought there own versions, so check them both out. They are in the vendor section in the forums. About the CAI, I believe Weapon R will release one soon, but if you would rather not wait, then get the TK one, the special edition black one :). Its in limited quantity, so get your koup fast.

The only issue I have had is the ride comfort/jitter, suspension seems to harden and work like a solid spring when you go over a pothole or cracks using the rear tires, that can be fixed easily, just get a rear lower bar and/or rear anti roll bar. Both can be bought for under 350$ @ UltraRacing.

Thats all I can think of right now.

Keep us posted if you do decide to get one, but if you want a 2010.. I suggest move fast, because theres just limited quantities left... The price is hiked by 3000+ for 2011..

im 5'8 and had a girl strattle me in the driver seat and she had plenty of head room if that helps! lol
5'8 + maybe avg 5'4 - (straddle position legs not counted = 3'9) =

~ (5x12 + 8) + (5x12 + 4) - (3x12 + 9) = 87 inches, or in height terms,

7 Feet 3 Inches.

Given that the girls avg height was 5'4, and that she did not have long legs.

HAHAHA nice!! I SWEAR TO GOD ITS MAYO!! I PUT TOO MUCH ON MY SANDWICH AND IT DRIPPED OUT WHILE I WAS DRIVING!

Lol in MY case (im a detailer) I fortunately have the resources to cover up/remove my inner-car "endeavors"

Anyways, back on topic, Im roughly 6 foot even, and i have plenty of room with my seat height adjustment all the way down
you shouldnt have mixed the Mayo storey with 6 feet...
LOLS!

Yes! I would ask about the clutch! I guess it doesn't really matter, because I put the clutch to the floor everytime I shift. Having a size 14 shoe, pushing it to the floor everytime just makes it easier. But my buddies mustang the clutch grabbed right at the top, and my knee bashed the steering wheel everytime I shifted.
All of these questions,, and more will be answered when you test drive the car lol... See questions about whether your knee will hit the steering wheel is not a purely car related question lol.. I mean.. I'm not that tall, I wouldn't be able to even guesstimate whether your knee would hit the wheel or not.. To me its comfy, unless your going over potholes then it gets annoying.

Take the plunge, take the test drive, fiddle around with it, move your seat back.. move down your seat all the way, and see how it goes, if you feel comfortable in the car, great! if you think the headroom is a bit low or if your knee hits the wheel everytime you shift, then either compromise get a non sunroof or tilt your wheel up or if you purely think that the car is not drivable then don't get it.

I know its hard being comfortable being that tall in a small coupe. But think if you were to get a lotus? or a ford gt40? How would you even fit in there?..

Hope you understood, Im not discouraging you to ask questions, sure you can ask them :).

Theres no such thing as a stupid question.

Well, I went and test drove one. BUT it was a Koup EX auto :( they had no SX's in stock. But i can fit perfectly fine with the sunroof. Which makes me happy. It sucks there are no SX koup 6 speeds around here. Hopefully soon I'll be picking one up!!
Good to hear that you fit in it :). Ask the dealership if they are able to get you an SX 6 Speed. If not then ask them if they have any other kia dealerships around your area, or even 200+Kms away, and if they can bring it to you. Hehe, just as I suspected, stock now is very low for the 2010s, so you might find yourself a good deal on those. I'm sure the dealership if they find a SX will charge a "finder's fee" sort of, for it to be shipped to you if it isnt at their lot. You might want to also look into the possibility of an SX Auto (its not as bad as you think, plus you have a 5 SP Triptonic).
