HELP!!Fog light install

28788 Views 39 Replies 13 Participants Last post by  Toastedforte
I have an EX sedan therefore i do not have Fogs. I just ordered the whole set off of sharkracing.com. Has anyone already did this? Can anyone lead me to a good thread with pictures. I went to a really good one, really in depth but no pictures:confused:
They'll be here end January, if i could get a head start and a feel of things i would feel more comfortable
Thank you

There is a huge write up in the DIY section, the Koup DIY has no pics anymore but there is also a Sedan version of the DIY and it has pics in it.

Let me know how they come out because I've been wanting to put fog lights on my sedan for a while
This should have everything you need. I'll be doing this in July!

Really in-depth! thanks
Ill be sure to put pictures up when there fully installed. Getting stock bulbs to begin with then wait at least until i get them to order the HIDS. Should have them on and running mid February, at latest!

Maybe put projectors in the fogs with the HIDs ;)
well i researched the fog lights so i founded out what i wanted/needed and i ordered 3k bulbs "hid look" for temp when I get the fog set

sharkracing then emailed me today and said itll be here no later then next friday so that means less then two weeks for a part from Korea.
Pics will be up hopefully next weekend (13 jan)

Alright, about two weeks ago I ordered OEM fog set (with light switch stalk) from Sharkracing.com

PICTURE 1

Notice they DO NOT come with cover "plates"

i did not get total picture coverage of this DIY but I do have a few.

First part was headlight and front bumper removal (self explanatory)

Pop out old fog "inserts" (3 screws)

Then due to no new plates we then cut it with a box cutter outlining the fog housing

(note)for me this is just temporary until I get ACTUAL fog plates

just a random DURING picture

These will cost you about $45.

Next was the STALK: In easy words..
1. disconnect battery
2. remove 2 Torx T-30 screws on back side (left and right) of wheel for air bag removal( 2 prongs on the back orange and black YOU CAN USE A KNIFE TO WEDGE IT OFF)
3. Remove steering wheel nut
4. Remove Steering wheel using puller
5. remove back steering wheel cover

I then laid the wire harness to its respective locations (all wires are labeled to there location)
speaking of which: one of the lines will need to run from the new stalk thru the firewall to connect to female connector on the harness.

I used this picture for an example

re-install steering wheel when stalk is installed and all wires are routed.
Final check all wires are connected

and that's pretty much it after re-installing bumper and headlights

All said and done about a 3 and 1/2 hours at most with smoke breaks *tehe* with one person cutting plates for fogs and 2 people working the wires and wheel

who's the seller you picked up the fog kit from?
thanks
what is that plate you used to run the wire through the fire wall
Hey guys, I just installed the same shark racing fogs with the HID kit and they look great! I am facing a couple issues however, now when I start my car up, the airbag light and the ESC light are constantly on. Does anyone know what may be the cause of this?

Sounds like maybe you left something disconnected or have a wire hooked up incorrectly.
well check your fuses first.... hope nothing got damaged

Having the same problem with the Kit from Shark Racing and i have not yet got them to light up despite two weekends of trying i followed the DIY but the harness that came with them is very different
I have checked fuses, Moved grounds to try to get better continuity, And just today I had the cruise control and stereo controls quit working
Are you guys both using the new stalk? I wonder if there is a issue with the wiring in the pin locations.
Using the new stalk, It does have one extra position on it called "auto" when you turn it to it then all the lights go out. I figured it was meant to work in conjunction with a daylight sensor

On the stalk the auto just means you can leave it on that and then once it gets to a certain darkness the lights will come on automatically.
