Hello everyone, I was wondering whether or not the HID lights are legal in my forte, if they are not factory installed? These are the documents I could find. I appreciate any help. Thank you.

TLDNR.

Call your local DMV or RCMP detachment and ask.
Thats a funny one:
(3) A headlamp must have a high beam
(a) that can reveal a person or another vehicle that is at least 100 metres ahead, and
(b) that does not shine in the eyes of an approaching driver.

Pretty much negates any headlamps that aren't projector.
I get flashed a lot from oncoming because my Low beams are shining in thier eyes.
Generally, if your vehicle doesn't come from factory with HID's installed, it's illegal to retrofit them due to the improper lighting pattern. Our headlamp reflectors are not designed for HID lighting.

Some earlier Nissan's had revised housings (from factory) so they could run HID's while projectors were being developed. Now all HID equipped vehicle's I've seen from the factory are set up with projectors to achieve the proper light patterns that meet motor vehicle safety standards.

I've come across HID bulbs with a lower metal shield attached to it to help reduce the oncoming glare. I don't know if they're available for our bulbs though.
Just a thought if you think it'll be a concern with law enforcement in your area.

Thats a funny one:
(3) A headlamp must have a high beam
The reason behind this one is due to some people wanting to drive with only they're fogs on.
Combining 3 with b would state you must have a highbeam that doesn't shine in the eyes of oncoming.
The Highway Traffic Act states very clearly that Xenon retrofitting is forbidden. That makes it ticketable by the law enforcement. Period.

They also have six other laws in place to limit the colour and requirements for Xenons installed by manufacturers, but again, point A will make them all moot for us.

Didn't stop me, but HID's are the least of my car's legal problems... Excessive speed and tinted forward windows will land my car in the impound before they have a chance to see the lights on!
awe that sucks. Thanks for all your input gentlemen, and gentleladies (if applicable)
