Just looking for people to chime in on how their car has held up over the last few years. I bought a 2012 sedan 6mt a little less than a year ago and put miles on my care quickly due to a 83mile round trip daily commute. Plus I am wondering if any of you had to do the valve inspection at 60k. I have done a similar procedure with buckets and shims on motorcycles, I was wondering if that special tool is really needed for the timing cover.

I have 20k on my car now with no issues, just had to do the throttle mod and switch the gear oil out to something a bit better.(Castrol Syntorq 75w85)

I am looking to get rid of the delay valve as well since I read it can improve clutch life/shifting this weekend. I looked everything up in KGIS seems to be pretty straight forward.

I bought my 2010 SX Sedan in 2009 and I have 106,000 kms (66,250 mi) on it now and I expect to have it to at least 200,000 kms. Still very much in love with my car!

I got my 2011 in December with 26k miles, and I now have 33k. I have a 40 minute commute to work, so my miles go up quickly. I plan to keep mine for a long time.

I have over 68,000 miles on my car. Except for some mysterious front suspension noise, all is well. I had bad luck with Mobil One synthetic gear oil for the tranny, it was worse than the OEM. Not sure how the Castrol is, normally it's good. This stuff is fantastic - Red Line Synthetic Oil - Gear Oil for Manual Transmissions - MTL 70W80 GL-4 Gear Oil.

I've had it in for almost 2 years and no more cold weather shifting issues, smoother shifts, and overall lighter action.

2010 KIA forte Sedan, 70k (miles)... Gearbox acting kinda funny. Gear oil change every 30K, might have to do the next one a lot sooner than that... Oil change every 6k.

I have a 2010 EX Sedan and I am at 72000 miles. . .Car still runs like a charm. . .no problems so far other than a faulty brake sensor but the dealership knew it was a warranty issue.

Nice my commute is 80% highway so I am sure I will get a lot of miles out of my car.

I changed out the stock gear oil at 6000 miles because it made the trans very notchy. I first tried Amsoil MTG which was a vast improvement, but still a little notchy. Through Bitog and the kia service manager I was suggested to try Castrol Syntorq which is not available anywhere besides either a gm or chrysler dealership. The part numbers are GM 12346190 , Mopar 4874459..

The price was 15 a qt, but has made a world of difference on how this thing shifts. Now I just need to get rid of the clutch delay valve this weekend, maybe it will be perfect.

85,000 miles on a 2010 sx sedan....here whats been done to it .front brakes at 70,000, plugs at 75,000, rear brakes and rear shocks at 83,000. I just did the 85,000 oil change yesterday. I also did a drain and fill on both the coolant and transmision at 35,000 and 70,000 with KIa fluids. I used the turkey baster method on the power steering fluid at the 35/70k marks with KIa power steering fluid. I also changed the PCV valve at 50k it was shot and had a bad O ring . I was getting and itermittent ESC light and I traced that to a bad brake light switch it was out of warranty @65,000 miles. Total cosst in parts since I,ve had it $140.00 for front and rear brake pads, 16 oil filters $100.00, 8 quarts of trans oil $50.00, kyb monotube shocks for rear $130.00 (pr), brake light switch $10.00, PCV valve $13.00 and $22.00 for quart of Kia power steering fluid. Add in air filters and cabin filters for the duration at 200.00 plus a set of Conti DWS tires for 600.00. Cost approximatey $1400.00 if you add in the oil which has been synthetic Pennzoil 5w-20 or 5w-30 @5 k intervals. All work and maitenace by me ...only time to dealer was to replace SAT radio antennae under warranty.
