Trying to remove my dash kit and can not seem to get it out. I have read that I have to remove the vents on each side to get to the screws and what not..... I just cant seem to get them out. On the Kia service web site (don't remember the site address) they mentioned a special tool. There has to be something else or an other way.

To all those who installed the after market dash kit..... how did you do it?
Maybe D113 knows.

I know how to install a system by my self and did all my previous cars but I tend to have difficulties with some stuff like that, especially on the first time.

There are 4 screws holding the faceplate to the actual head unit u only have to take the ac vents on the sides and pull the head down

I know about the screws for the face plate it's the vents I can't remove.

be careful with this i tried it with the close hanger and i hooked it on the wrong spot and knocked a couple things loose. 4.Air vent remover (09840-1M100(A)) should be aligned and hung at the end of air vent.

IF anyone is going to do the head unit removal. PLEASE do a DIY with pictures. I think it would help alot of people (including me )

I have tried everything I thought and just not happening. I think I wont have any choice to go to the dealer and have it done at the same time as my winter tires.... If I don't do that I will end up so frustrated I might break something unintentionally trying to get them out.

i cant get them out either and i have broke a couple things in the vent nothin major but its annoying. Video DIY would be GREATLY appreciated

Thanks Noodile, the stereo installers where having trouble so I looked it up on here for them, I got a text and texted back in a post on here....been a long day lol, no where near finished either, I'm driving to work tomorrow with no center dash, wires and rcas all over my pass. floor and no climate controls or turn signals, but omg, the gloss black dash kit with the gloss black pioneer double din looks so sexy!
