How come the sonata 2.4 got 200hp and the forte 2.4 174 hp,why don't they have the same hp ?

So this mean the 2011 Koup will have 200 hp,good reason to put a turbo on mine.
The 2011 Sonata is not turbo diesel, at least not in the US. The 200 hp Sonata is a Direct Injection motor which is why it's more HP than our Forte.
IMO, they could've done a lot more with the forte SX. Seeing all of hyundai's other engines they could've beefed up the performance a bit. At least to the sub 15s range, and they could've done with a better rear suspension and ride height. It's still a decent platform to start on, and it's only a matter of time till we see 300hp fortes.
this brings up something I was wondering that Gripp could hopefully answer: is there a way to convert our cars to GDI, like possibly with different injectors and tuning?
it would be nice to be making 175 n/a lol
Or is the motor making that kind of hp, does any one have any stock dino jet results for a stock forte koupe??

its the way its integrated into the head, then there is a high pressure pump, & compression is higher something like 11.3:1:)

Also the "new Theta II" 2.4L GDI engine is a derivative of the Theta with major upgrades in technology and architecture. It features a unique block (lighter than previous), valvetrain, front end accessory drive (FEAD), intake manifold, pistons (domed), rods, crankshaft (lighter than previous), variable induction system and catalyst.
Sorry guys, but you can't get caught up in the "ooo new shiny" everytime an automaker makes a updated version of their car or engines. At the most, you might get 1-2 mpg more and possibly reduce your 0-60 time by .4 seconds. I'll keep my 156hp 2.0 thank you.
The Gas Direct Injection in the Sonata would be nice to see in the future, a 200 HP Forte could be a good performance car with the right suspension and its already light weight.
