Now I got an option! They say I can't get a rental car cuz they are not gonna pay for rental cars. They said I can upgrade to SX by paying extra 2500 or I wait for 3~6 weeks my car shipped from Korea. They have no ex with sunroof in entire Ontario state in any color and every customers want that trim must wait 3~6 weeks. And I never get informed when I sign the contract and i can't even cancel my contract! And they think I can't understand situation well enough due to my enliglish accent an kindly explain the process of car making and shipping from south korea in detail which they think I dont understand
Why it takes few weeks for shipping g from Korea... With sarcastic tone !!

Simon: I was the same exact way!!! I went in wanting a black koup but HAD to be stick. The only stick shift in the northeast at the time was the fully loaded silver one so I got that one and I agree, I am glad I got silver over black. Silver looks clean even when it's filthy. We have the same car lol my mods may take yours tho lol

When I went to the dealership last weekend, they'd told me that the EXs were getting extremely hard to find. I originally wanted one in white, but they only had a VIN for a white SX. Here's hoping it arrives for the weekend, but knowing my luck it'll also be coming from Korea.

Hang in there!

Well, if they have the right color in the SX, get it. The options and handling package are well worth the extra $2,500 anyway. I think you can probably get it for less, however. But I would never settle for anything less. The SX handles like a sports car in the truest sense. I really don't understand why anyone would settle for less.

The only colour I wanted was white. I wouldn't have bought the Koup if I couldn't have it in white. The Dealer/Salesperson tried to talk me into a car that was in inventory on the lot. They told me it was a 3 month wait for a white Koup. I said, "Okay, here's my deposit. Call me when it arrives." Three days later they managed to 'find' a white Koup.
EXACT same thing happened to me. I told them that I only wanted white, end of discussion. He said "ok, but let me know asap because it's going to take 3 months to get one"

So I went back when there was 3 months left on my Mazda lease and told him to go ahead and order the white one for me. 6 days later he calls and asks me to come pick it up!

I checked the internet for dealers that had the color and options I wanted on the lot for the lowest asking price on a day there was a sale and rain at the dealership. Bought it that day and drove home. Took me an hour rather than 15 minutes to get back but the drive was fun. Always check ahead, and don't sign anything until you see it in front of your face.

I had a hard time waiting an extra week (2 weeks total) so I can't even begin to imagine what you're going through.

In the end though, driving that car off the lot for the first time is going to be such a satisfying feeling, and it'll amplify due to the long wait too.

I'm guessing the dealership told you that you can't cancel the contract? Of course they are going to tell you this... it does not need to be correct and it's their loss if you do cancel.

I can't speak for CA law but I'm guessing that 1) there was some initial agreement as to when the product would be delivered and 2) that they have some reasonable time frame to deliver the product if it's not specified in the contract. To look at it another way... what is to prevent them from delivering the car 2 years from now? When you signed I'm also guessing that there was some type of verbal info given as to when the car would be delivered? If so, this also enters into the agreement.

My recommendation is to search online for case law (what we call it here in the US, laws made via judges decisions on cases) or even contract law that gives someone a time limit to deliver a product if that time limit is not set in the contract itself. Go back to the _manager_ of the dealership with the information that you obtain. If correct, let the manager know that you will be cancelling the contract based on [the info you obtained]. Let the manager know you'd be willing to workout a comprimise instead, if they want to keep your business. If he/she is willing to discuss I'm sure (being a car salesman) that they will want to charge you for an "upgrade". I have no doubt this realy equates to them making more money off of the deal.
