and here's why...

I've been on this forum since February - and got my Koup on February 19. I've read many posts from many different people saying how often the get compliments and remarks on how nice the Koup is and so on. Some go even as far as saying that certain people with certain high end cars have complimented the car. I mean come on its a Kia. OK a nice Kia but still a sub $25k car. I'm thinkin no way a man in a caddy CTS is pulling over and looking at a Koup or a guy in a Lexus blah blah blah. Well I'm sorry I doubted you. I humbly apologize.

Tonight, on my way home from work I stopped by Costco, needed to pick up a few things for the office. Quick trip, in & out. I park beside this Land Rover and notice the owner having a smoke waiting for his wife. As I'm coming out of Costco, I notice the same guy looking at my car and walking around it, looking inside. As I get closer I open the trunk with the remote and startle the guy . He quickly comes to me and starts telling me how nice the car is, and how impress he his with the looks. He then adds: " but its a Kia - I mean, I don't want to sound negative, but its a Kia - WOW really nice car man!!!"

Anyways, I once again want to apologize to everyone I doubted when reading your posts! We truly have a great car, that impresses a lot of people.

BTW has I parked my car to pick up my daughter at school, some guy in a Dakota pulls up and starts asking me if its worth it, do I like, how does it handle .

I mean in the past 2 weeks, I've had 6 complete strangers compliment my Koup. Its a really nice feeling!

Same here, not one day passes by that heads don't turn(wish it was my looks but it ain't) or someone askes me about the car.
I have had it for 3 weeks and love it.

A cop pulled me over today... to ask me about the car... It was great! He even hit on me... L-M-A-O. Well still this car is impressive and beautiful. Its a real head turner!!

Just to show yall how much this car affects people. I had a co worker at work get dropped of by her boyfriends dad and he saw my car with the inserts out. Just the red paint and black wheels and he couldn't believe it was a KIA. Just a couple days later he comes into the store bragging about how he pre-ordered the SXr from a canadian dealership!!! We live in TEXAS!!!! And hes getting rid of his Lincoln Truck for IT!!!!

Electric blue is quite an eye-catcher. Mine's silver, so it's less noticeable. I live in the southshore as well... I'll flash my lights at you if I see you!

No need to apologize... Yesterday I park my Koup and a couple of construction workers that were walking by started to look at it and say things like "it looks like a Civic". Ohhh but then I opened the door and they saw the inside and they changed their mind with how nice it looks from the inside and were impressed with the leather seats and everything. Get used to people saying "Is that a KIA?"...

So what if its a KIA? (translated to: "Rising out of Asia"). I guess because it doesn't sound as good as "Honda". "Mitsubishi" , "Suzuki", or "Scion". Can you think of any lamer car Company name other than KIA?...Saturn?, oh wait they no longer exist (I love the Saturn Sky btw). I guess they should have gone the Toyota route and start a new subsidiary company just so this awesome car wouldn't have the name "KIA" on it... THAT'S WHY MANY OF YOU PEOPLES ARE CHANGING/REMOVING YOUR BADGES, who cares if it's a KIA right? Ive seen cars on the road with no emblems, some say it looks "clean", removing the "KIA" and having no badge doesn't really look "clean".
I don't really see Honda people removing their "H" logo (other than putting a Red "H"), although I've seen some cars without the Toyota" emblem. I added the Cerrato "SLi" to mine, still have the KIA.

Anyhow, this is the backlash that every forte owner will unfortunately face... I would like to introduce a new word: Carcist. Next time someone tells you the "but it's a KIA" phrase call them a carcist .

I removed my KIA logo's because they look bland and not stylish at all. Got rid of the Koup and Forte because my replacement badge already has the Koup / Forte words on it.

I removed my badge because it was black. I wanted a red badge to go with my red calipers and stop-lights. Plus, I don't like the design of the Kia badge. I'm in no way embarrased by the fact that it's a Kia. I see a lot of de-badged VWs in the area.

I love the expression I see on some people's faces when they realize that this Kia looks better and is better equipped than their "popular" brands.

I debadged my koup because I wanted too.
I debadged my cougar before and I debadged my integra before that.
It is what it is. To each their own.

Some people like it some people dont....oh well.
